Appears the trade to the Nets came as quite the shock to Williams. Perhaps there is a shot to trade Oden + Miller + Pryz + Picks + Cash

    For

    Williams + Gadzuric

It can't be done because Williams can only be traded by himself.

....and William's salary is too large to be matched by any one single Blazer, even if we could include our Bayless exception dollars, right? By the way, can we combine the Bayless exception (2.9 million) with a player when trading?

If we could trade with Utah to acquire Harris, and still have enough pieces to trade with Charlotte to acquire Wallace - I'd be ok with that. But damn - - how can the Nets steal Williams like that? Bites. I would have loved Williams over CP3 any day of the week for the Blazers.

So, per the CBA Williams can only be traded by himself from his team. We have no restrictions on sending players back, as long as it's within the 125% + 100k rule and roster limits are adhered to.

The trade exception can only be used to acquire a player or group of players making less than the amount of the trade exception. That's it. So if there's anyone making over $2.302M, the trade exception doesn't even apply. Forget about it for that transaction.

As much as uber-unrealistic trade proposal threads make me cringe, at least (I think) Boom knows some of his ideas are totally pie in the sky and I take them with a (large) grain of salt. So it's understandable that after days of relentless trade rumors capped off by a frustrating loss that Boom would let loose with one of these trades. But please, Fez, don't turn this into a "Fez" type of thread . . . you know, the kind where the grass is always greener on the other side, most things Blazers suck and just about every other team's good prospects are ours for the taking if our GM has the balls to snatch 'em up.

He'll just leave for New York soon anyway. These super teams are going to kill our franchise one day.

    So true!

with this noted (super teams) one must remember the '77 Blazers did beat the "Super 76'ers" (George McGinnis, Bobby Jones, Dr. J, World B. Free and others) by playing team basketball.

I think what the Blazers need most (with our current crop) is a tough banger-type that can get us points in the paint and rebounds....kind of an "enforcer" to play alongside LMA.

Gerald Wallace would help this current team.

If that 77 team had played by today's rules Maurice would have have been thrown out of every game.

It just isn't possible to have an enforcer these days.
Unless you are the Lakers, or Boston. Then your players can pull whatever shit they want.

    Sarge is this team's enforcer.
