    The Nets still had nothing to say officially yesterday about why veteran backup point guard Chris Childs is not with the team in Texas, other than to say they didn't invite him for the ride. But here's a hint as to Childs' future: His Nets teammates are already talking about him in the past tense."

    Maybe he can go play for Riley again.

    Avery Johnson's been playing better back-up point than Chris Childs, so i don't see why the team would care whether CC is playin' or not.

    yeah the Nets are going to buy him out and then release him. I think the waiver wire deadline has passed so he won't be back. I could be wrong about the deadline date though.

    Hes been a major dissapointment. I thought he would be one of the main guys off the bench for the Nets this year.
