I don't think he'll see much PT in Houston. They still have Scola, Landry, Hayes, and Andersen in the front court rotation.

Boy, Houston sure love the undersized bigmen.

Seems redundant with Hayes. Pops is a little bigger (still undersized though) and more of a shotblocking threat but they're both good rebounders with crappy finishing/offensive ability.

And Carl Landry, though Landry can hit a short jumper and isn't nearly as offensively challenged as Hayes and Pops. Still, 3 undersized PFs, and Scola isn't all that big.

Those 4 short PF will be trading off at Center

I think thats better than going out and getting a big stiff simply because he's tall.

Well, now they'll get bullied inside. I'm sure there's someone out there who would've been just as good as Pops. Jason Collins was available. Yeah he sucks, but at least he took up space down low and wasn't redundant. Rockets could also look to see if they could pry Pryzbilla away from Portland. They can't have him playing behind Oden when Pryzbilla could be starting for other teams and is in his prime, and they need a backup PF.

There's a better than even chance Pops won't even make the team. He's a guy they're bringing in to look at during training camp, and provide some competition for Dorsey. I believe he's a non-guaranteed contract. To get a Pryzbilla (very good player I'd love to have) would require giving up valued assets and probably getting deeper into luxury tax.
