I'm just about fed up with the dunk contest. Without allstar caliber players which the audience can identify with, it just becomes really boring. Which of these events would you like to see put in place of it? (a) one on one game, first to 11 ( H-O-R-S-E © 2-ball tournament Basically, the only event this year that was half-way decent was 3-point shoot out. Everything else sucked. If they can get marquee players to enter the dunk contest, I say keep it. Scrap those other two sad events, and choose 2 of the above. I like (a) and ( the most, but 2-ball was fun the years it was in place. Also, to keep the personnel involved interesting, I say that for any player to be in any of the events, he needs to be on the allstar ballot. That'd filter out a lot of the no-name benchwarmers.
H-O-R-S-E would be great. I'd love to see some of the whacky shots players would come up with. That's a very original idea; can't say I've heard that one yet. I found two ball very boring, and I'm pretty sure the Magic Johnson thing is supposed to serve as a replacement for that. I don't think one on one could work. It could take a while for every player to finish their game.
I agree with Wave, H-O-R-S-E would be the best, I would love to see Shaq do that...Shaq against Malone, he beat him in a 3pt shootout in practice earlier this year.

I think H-O-R-S-E would definitley be interesting especially if they got a wide variety of players to participate in it.
Horse would be tight. I wonder if the 1-on-1 event, there will be MJ vs. LeBron James. That would be awesome.
I think they should put the rookie/sophomore game, the 3-point shoot-out and two ball on saturday and all-star game sunday. ...as far as the dunk competion, they should scrap it for a couple of years and wait until the league has more diversity in dunkers ( like the 2000 dunk competition), and I think u'll see a lot of superstars there too because it wasnt there for a while ( like the 2000 competition)
I also agree with the horse Idea. Anything that lets the players show there individualism and style is great. I see Basketball as an artistic expression of heart on the court, and all those regulations dont allow the players to be themselves. A game of twenty one modified so tips can't just cant go on and on and other tedious parts of the games would be great to watch. And even a one on one contest would be awesome to see.
A 1 on 1 game in which the fans vote for the matchups... i'm sure the most votes would go for Vince vs. T-Mac and Shaq vs. Yao.
One-One wouldnt work because there are to many egos in the NBA. I dont think say a guy like Mcgrady ego could stand losing to Kobe, or Kobe couldnt stand losing to T-mac. I like the Horse Idea but maybe with a little twist added in. Not really forsure 100% what the twist would be, maybe incorprate the dunk contest into it. The Point guard skills competion has a good concept but it needs some work. Maybe they can turn it into an east-vs west type of thing. You take the top 3 or 4 point guards from the West & make them go against the east top 3 or 4 point guards in that skills time trail thing. I think that would make them take that event more seriously. The point guards would take pride in the fact that they were invited to the event as one of the best point guards. And their conference would have some type of bragging rights, the winning conference beat the other conferences very best at that position.
I would love to see a one-on-one tournament but I doubt any of the players we'd want to see competing would actually be involved. They'll either be more concerned with the all-star game or more concerned with their ego's being smashed. It'll just end up being a rising star event just like the slam dunk competition and that's something I wouldn't be too excited to see (but then again, I'd have to see it first). I wasn't aware there is a h-o-r-s-e competition but I'm guessing from the comments that I ain't missing much. 2-Ball was a complete waste of time. It should never come back. But I do think the revised version they did this year was much more entertaining.

Who won?
I think they should have a Dunk H-O-R-S-E it could be in tournament style and the best dunkers just go at it.
I agree with everyone else on this subject, H-O-R-S-E would be awsome. It would give everone a chance to see who really can make shots from everywhere on the court. It would also be cool if they had already made up trick shots for the players to try.
