New Assistant GM Mike Schmitz

Could this be a precursor to Dame being traded to the Kings for the 4th pick, Fox, Moe and a future first and then us moving Fox and the future first to the Thunder for 12 and 30?

Go all in on the draft after picking up the draft expert?

I'm just kidding. It does give me a lot of confidence in how our F.O. will value our pick now and whatever picks we might make in this draft.

Edit: Maybe what got Schmitz the job was saying that we didn't have to fuck with Grant because if we trade back to 13 and 15 we can get two guys that will be better than Grant in Dame's window. Then we could actually have the cap space to go after Ayton in a complicated double sign and trade with Nurk.

no. stop it.

I've always been very high on Schmitz!
Make sense for him to move to the team side. That's where he started out and I'm sure it's not nearly as fulfilling working for clicks rather than affecting the future of a team/franchise

Well, we know who the leader in the clubhouse for the 7th pick is now - if he has significant input.

Dyson Daniels and it’s not even close.

Just read the article he put out today…

best prospects outside the top 4 likely to “boom”
- Daniels

best fit
- Portland

I also remember him being super high on Dragan Bender. Some hits some misses for sure
Yup. Didn't scout Dragan enough to have an opinion but I've disagreed with a lot of his 2nd round level evaluations particularly.

He was a big Iwundu guy in 2017 and Jacob Evans in 2018. Both were fringe NBA players in my eyes.

Everybody is going to be wrong a lot with this stuff

im calling it now, if joe cronin fails, mike schmitz will take his job

having a guy like him who is so good in evaluating talent is huge, especially for a small market teams like ours, as those organizations build their teams through the draft (best free agents wont come here and its difficult to build the team through the trades)... once he learns the gm things, look out, hes not being brought here for nothing

Maybe he is our real GM and Cronin is just on the side

Wait, this is the guy that ran DraftExpress right? Solid shit right here. That was THE site for NBA Draft coverage before it was bought by ESPN.
