    <span style="font-style: italic">Nov 7</span> - The winless Trail Blazers increased their intensity and furor during two passionate practices this week, intent on erasing a disastrous season-opening trip that tempered high expectations.</p>

    Practice was so heated Monday that players were on the verge of brawling on more than one occasion. Expect the motivated Blazers, if nothing else, to come out in similar fashion tonight -- trying to smack the New Orleans Hornets in the mouth when they make their Rose Garden debut.</p>
