Can't believe how old fashioned this thing is. It's 20-fucking-25, and they still need a guy on a lift to change the score of the game? They could have at least sprung for a model where the scorekeeper works from behind the scoreboard. barfo
man that looks fantastic!!! The old was like looking at one of those children's educational games. The one with the colored pegs that light up? Called litebrite maybe? Anyhow, long overdue and looks to be done very well!
I wonder if this makes it more likely they'll continue to upgrade/update the RG, or if they'll still say we need a new one.
I still find a totally new arena unnecessary, but whatever. Moda does not feel old to me, and I've been to Fiserv that's less than 10 years old
They can say it all they want. Until it’s mandatory. I’ve shared before, there are quite a few shitty arenas around this league. How can they MAKE us right?
It's funny how many local media guys out there act like the other arenas are all better than the RG, yet we have someone who actually travels with the team and sees every arena at min 1 time a year, who says otherwise.
Hey look close at some of those pics above. Did anybody else notice that they have black curtains hanging below the video boards? Probably just have them lowered for the media? Otherwise they would be shutting down the 300 level? Can’t imagine that.
It's not the arena that's the issue, it's the location in the city and lack of development real estate around it.
Let me know if you want a list of arenas around the league that are in shitty areas or surrounded by abandoned lots
Yes please. I would like a list of the lots surrounding each stadium by tax map number, with a summary of current improvements to the property, owners, and taxes due. High resolution recent satellite images with property boundaries shown would be very helpful. Thanks! barfo
What's relevant is the newer arenas and ones being built. For example you always rip on the Spurs arena having nothing around - but their building a new one downtown with 4 billion of real estate. See the Clippers arena. Vegas is another example. Tom Dundon is building a similar new arena and real estate with the Hurricanes. The Rose Garden has a horrible area, no hotels, no other tral estate, and no other development at its location. Has nothing to do with how good the building is.
