It's only one game and means almsot nothing but it's interesting to look at.

    ************************************************************************

Mason Plumlee --7 points, 6 rebounds, 0 blocks and 6 assists
Robin Lopez ------8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 0 assists

Meyers Leonard -----12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block and 3 assists
LaMarcus Aldridge -11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block and 1 assist

Al Farouq Aminu--9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and 0 assists
Nicolas Batum -----9 poins, 6 rebounds, 0 blocks and 3 assists (3-12 shooting)

CJ McCollum -----37 points, 6 rebounds, 0 blocks and 1 assist
Wes Matthews ----9 points, 3 rebounds, 0 blocks and 1 assist

Ed Davis ---------12 points, 11 rebounds, 0 blocks and 0 assists (6-7 shooting. No blocks but altered shots)
Julius Randle --15 points, 11 rebounds, 0 blocks and 2 assists. (5-13 shooting)
Not an ex-Blazer but Davis's replacement in Los Angeles for comparison

It is not just changing players, it is getting the right players for each other and developing chemistry. By doing a major change rather than changing just a few players, Olshey has provided for an entirely new brew rather than just a variation on the old brew.

So far, liking the new brew. :)

Even since early-summer I liked the talent that we accumulated - I've since thought that we have a stronger roster. Finally seeing them play last night I'm now convinced. I'm still not convinced by the system. But if we had Jerry Sloan coaching this team I think he could take us to the 2nd round - the talent is there, but the plays aren't.

    Good to see Wesley healthy.

I have pretty much come full circle from my views over the Summer. Ripping the bandaid off works for me. Obviously we're not as good as we looked in that game (we're not a championship contender), and I worry that even at 30 points up we had Lillard and McCollum playing 37 minutes, but Stotts has them playing well, and my opinion of Olshey has gone up drastically. Now we have to work out how to become a contender without getting a top 5 pick...

The most impressive stat of all of those, to me, is Plumlee's 6 assists. And it wasn't like he played that many minutes...

Sidenote: right now Monty Williams is feeling pretty smug.

I might call Brandon Bass the LAL replacement; a big signed in free agency. They likely keep Davis for similar if they offer him a contract July 1st instead of jerking off Aldridge.
    Brandon Bass - 2 points, 6 rebounds, 0 blocks, 0 assists, 1-4 shooting

    Mo Harkless - 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block, 0 assist, 3-6 shooting 2-3 threes
    Aaron Afflalo - 0 points, 0 rebounds , 0 blocks, 0 assists

Also, (Good) Mo Williams is looking like a perfect fit next to LeBron (again).

People say Gentry is making their offense way better. Well Davis IMO, should not be encourage to take long jumpers when he can be so great in the post. It's kinda like Stotts trying to turn LMA into Dirk.

Yeah, take the most dominant young player in the league and turn him into Matt Bonner. Even if he keeps shooting above 35% 3 pointers opponents will be glad to get him away from the hoop where he makes everything.

I've had my doubts about stotts too. But, just like I am with the team, I am holding out for a larger sample size (with stotts and this group). I think it's only fair to not hold a team to expectations of a 43 point (22 from CJ) first quarter every time. I have a gut feeling we're gonna see a lot of 22 point TEAM quarters... but, I will still hold out for a larger sample size.

All very small sample sizes and against a NOLA team that was short-handed but you have to like the athletic ability, the improved quickness and the improved passion outside of what Wes brought.

On the 'suspect' side, if they you thought they lived and died by the jumper before, this team is double that. No inside offense whatsoever except what is created from the threat of the outside shot and then attacking the basket. I saw one (1) post-up all night long with Ed Davis converted over/around Anthony Davis. Hopefully as Vonleh gets more comfortable and Meyers learns, they can take advantage of mismatches. Towards the end, they were switching a guard onto Meyers, Vonleh and Davis and the Blazers weren't making them pay at the rim.

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! LETS BE REAL!

The current Blazers are more flowing, faster, together, tougher and with better leadership. Last group was a mirage and I feel bad that I actually ever believed in them. I feel like a chump for thinking that fielded team was any good.
