Hmmm....We'd be getting the raw end of the deal b/c Anderson's contract is bad. Deke has a two year deal left I believe but he's a shell of his former self.

This is a stupid trade. Which means its probably going to go down. I hope the 2005-2006 major capspace is Cohan's run at trying to sell the team by that year.

I would almost give up on this organization if they went and pulled this deal. Call me crazy, but I just don't understand deals like these. It makes no sense at all, Thomas will walk at seasons end, and Mutombo is an overpaid player that won't make much impact on the Warriors season. Warriors should go and get them something that will help out more in the long run, it would just be a huge mistake to make this trade.

Yeah. They shouldn't even think about taking on Andersen's contract (also, where the hell would he fit in in GS's already cluttered guard rotation? Richardson, Pietrus, Cheaney, Johnson, Claxton...).
Mutombo's old and his best days are behind him- he won't do anything good for this team.
Thomas is undersized in the west, and while he might work hard, he doesn't really fit in with the rest of this team, because when Murphy comes back, do you put Thomas ahead of Cliffy and Cardinal in the rotation?

St. Jean is just stupid enough to make this trade... brace yourself WArriors fans.

I pray he isn't stupid enough to make this trade. Isaiah would be treated as a god if he was able to pull this trade off.

The Warriors are fine with the way they are. If Dampier wants to become greedy at the season's end, he'll just free up some cap space and we could make the proper moves then.

If it sounds stupid, then Gary St. Jean and Cohan might just do it because they're consistently stupid. The way I see it is that Cohan is an airhead who wants to sell the team, but didn't have the right conditions to sell it with the bad contracts and all. So maybe when all that cap space comes around in 2005-2006, he'll find a new buyer who will get to decide who stays and who goes. I think that's why a trade might happen, but I doubt it will be for any New York players because it won't make sense because of the lengths of their contracts. But hey St. Jean was dumb enough to take on Eschmeyer's contract. Talk about long and ultra risky.

Please no. There is absolutely nothing there to help in either the short run or long run. Mutumbo? Nope. Thomas? Kind of, at least his contract expires. Shandon Anderson? Nothing. Plus Mutumbo and Anderson's contracts remain for next year. Damp's ends (he will opt out.) So the Warriors get leftover contracts and give up the best player? That's got to be the definition of stupid. Cross your fingers that its just rumor.

The better deal is supposedly the Grizz giving up Battier and Swift. That has potential. Battier is a legitimate NBA role player and Swift is probably a free agent with some potential.

The Grizz make the playoffs if they can pull this off IMO. Gasol and Dampier would be hard to matchup against.

I agree with you, but if we had to make a trade, I like the Memphis rumor best of all. I would not mind seeing Battier starting at SF in front of Dunleavy.
