<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Things weren't going right for Wichita State before Friday night's game against New Mexico and it was as bad as it's been all season after it.

Tony Danridge scored 17 points and New Mexico handed No. 8 Wichita State its first loss of the season, 71-68 on Friday night in the third round of the Las Vegas Classic.

Before the game, Wichita State coach Mark Turgeon was informed junior forward P.J. Couisnard, the team's second-leading scorer (12.0 ppg), was sick with a stomach virus. He went to the arena with team but couldn't play, ending his streak of 31 consecutive starts.

"We kept looking around for P.J.," Turegon said. "I should have kept him back at the hotel. I couldn't believe it. It didn't feel right."</div>

It's not an upset when you predict it. [IMG]

Trust me, these are both legit teams, but the Wolfpack are just very underrated and immensely talented. They deserve to be ranked at this point, especially over teams like UConn.

Must agree. If they can beat Kansas State tonight, they should be close to entering the top 25. They have some very good talent as you said with J.R. Giddens who is a big-time scorer who can fill it up quickly. Aaron Johnson is a terrific rebounder, while Tony Danridge is another quality offensive player.

They're definitely a team to keep an eye.

It is the Lobos not the Wolfpack just pointing it out. Im surprised we pulled this one out with Giddens sitting out the last 15 minutes because he got hurt but at least we won.

    Wichita State falls again!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Nick Young scored 26 points and Southern California beat No. 8 Wichita State 60-56 in the third-place game of the Las Vegas Classic on Saturday, handing the Shockers their second loss in as many nights after they had opened the season 9-0.

Young, who went 11-for-14 from the field, made a jumper as the shot clock ran out with 1:03 to play, and Lodrick Stewart then stole the ball and made one free throw to put the Trojans (10-3) ahead 58-53.</div>
