God its awful. I mean its basically... if the starters suck... we are dead. i still say resigning camby is priority #1 but after the last few weeks, i have to think the bench problem might be just as important. we have gone from a great bench to a below average bench. hell the bobcats bench looks better. i would clear the whole damn thing out this summer. - Bayless I think has basically played himself out of the rotation in any meaningful game. Its been that bad. And when i say bad, I mean telfair bad. - Rudy... its like a chicken with his head cut off running around throwing eggs. every once in a while you have to hit something but its a fucking mess the rest of the time. - Webster actually played decent vs denver but asking him to do it on a nightly basis is like asking bayless to play defense. Its just not gonna happen. - Howard has run out of gas. Plain and simple. - Cunningham and Pendy are too young and will get eaten alive in post season play. This summer the new GM needs to fix this disaster cause its really holding us back. Something needs to be done. These guys are not playoff players. We need toughness and more balanced players that arent 1 trick ponys. And in closing, Roy again showed tonight why hes not in the same class as the Kobes, Durants, Wades, Dirks, Melos, ETC.... HEs in the Grangers, Iggys, Westbrooks, Lees, Rose, Williams group. Solid tier 2 type guys but not elite.
Where were you last night? As a life-long, die-hard Blazer fan I would have thought you would have been ecstatic about the win over the Knicks. Yet you waited til we played a shitty game to come back and drop another horse shit thread on us. What gives?
I agree with Mixum on Bayless and Rudy. Both have had issues this year and I give Rudy a little more give bases upon his back issues. Bayless is NOT A POINT GUARD and only drives to the basket to attempt to get fouled. Bayless is the one player that I definitely want to get traded this year. Websters, new hair dew has affected his shooting. Cunningham has some clutch jumpers that I don't see a reason why I should see him being traded. Pendergraph, hasn't shown to me any true value defensively so hes another I could see let go with Bayless. I would resign Howard and Camby because we need some veteran experience in our bench.
bullshit, i posted celebrate playoffs. i also said we would win more then 33 games. Who said 33? and dude... im sorry im not popping bubbly because we beat the knicks. how about for once beating a established western powerhouse on the road when we need it? Suns? Nuggets? Both big games and both failures. This is the time to show what you have.... and we are blowing it.
I agree with Mixum that we choked our chances against Denver and Phoenix within this past week and a half.
yah well the the twolves beat utah in utah in november. its crunch time now ... but its typical blazer excuses. wheres the "arg arg we dont have oden" i know the die hard fans like kool aid but its the truth, we are a soft jump shooting team with a 2nd tier star.
Explain to me how a win or loss in March or April is more valuable then one in December......... This should be good!
Beating the kings (april 3) and clippers (april 7) on the road will help. Heh. Dallas will be a good matchup again on April 9th, 2010.
its fools gold cause we will get stomped in playoffs. and we love dallas cause they are soft like us.
This is why the team actually misses having Trout around. When he was on a roll, he scared the other team. Rudy and Bayless generally do not....and Webster only scares Blazer fans. With Howard showing his age, the team is also back to being paper thin at the power positions. That is not a rip on Howard, who has given this team far more quality minutes then they had any right to expect from a guy with that much mileage on his tires.
Yawn We played the 3rd best home team in the NBA (behind LAL and the Cavs) and lost on the second night of a back-to-back. The team looked tired and lethargic, no legs whatsoever. Not one team in the NBA has beat Denver at the Pepsi Center on the second night of a back-to-back. I was going into this game halfway expecting this outcome and expecting that Mixum would chirp in with another one of his generic posts.
The bench would look a wee bit stronger with a healthy Oden and Przybilla on it. It would also look stronger without all the other injuries and KP having to trade depth for guys who are filling in. Look at the box score from last night. A tight 8 man rotation with two of KP's biggest acquisitions playing key roles - add Howard, too.
We looked like the same team that consistently get stomped by Denver at home. We've been winning against some teams that play very weak defense lately and got a serious reality check. This team will be an easy out for any team in the playoffs save for maybe Dallas who can't defend either. Rudy and Bayless need to get moved this summer if we are looking to get to next level. Neither seem to have the right combination of talent and smarts to be consistent contributes on a contender. Like Blake and Outlaw, it will be nice seeing their names in the box score for another team and realizing they were vastly overrated by most Blazer fans.
Nuggets bench = 26 points Blazers bench = 26 points The game came down to their star player showing up, ours not.
Agree on this loss being on Nate. It was laughable yet disturbing how predictable the offensive sets were for Portland. Denver was just waiting for the plays to come to them and the Blazers never adjusted. Nate's system is too slow, too rigid and far too predictable. Absolutely excrutiating to watch.
