New Orleans Hornets may have interest in Blazers assistant coach Monty Williams

There's a lot going on for the Big Easy's NBA franchise right now. General Manager Jeff Bower stepped down from his interim role as head coach of the New Orleans Hornets earlier this week, moving back full time to his GM role. In addition, the team is in the middle of sale, which apparently hit a snag Friday.

While a transfer of owners could have ripple effect in the search for a new head coach, Bower and team president Hugh Weber are reaching out to prospective candidates:

Their list of potential candidates will include former and current head coaches, assistants and possibly even a few college coaches.

Weber said some coaches they may consider are currently participating in the NBA playoffs.
