ESPN's Marc Stein reports a possible Portland-Cleveland swap of big men has been discussed. The deal would consist of two main components: Rasheed Wallace and Zydrunas Ilguaskas. Others might be included, but these are the two main principles involved. Stein says Portland's front office has denied that talks have taken place, while Cleveland continues to stress that Wallace is not a player the Cavs are interested in adding to their team.
I don't blame them(the Cavs)... Why would anyone want a cancer like Wallace right after they removed another in the form of Ricky Davis?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ObieCent:</div><div class="quote_post">Silas couldn't make Ricky Davis's attitude any better, so how do you expect him to make Rasheed Wallace's better?</div> You took the words right out of my mouth. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> His t's have been going down year by year but if silas can make his attitude better why not get him?</div> That question is the big question. Nobody knows if his attitude will get any better. You could compare Wallace to Eddie Griffin, everyone is scared to death of adding them to their roster because of the "negativity" they would bring to the ball club. Personally, I don't think anyone can make Wallace's attitude get better except Rasheed himself.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">a possible Portland-Cleveland swap of big men has been discussed</div> That is as far as it went, thank goodness. Gund does not want Wallace here, it is not going to happen.
Wow Dexter, I would not necessarily want Wallace on my team either, but comparing him to Eddie Griffin is a bit harsh. He may not be the best citizen, but Eddie Griffin essentially attempted to murder someone. A possible cancer, yes. But I don't think he's quite on par with Eddie Griffin.
As a Cleveland Fan.. I dont want him! WHY would they want that head case after they just got rid of Ricky Davis The Cavs finally have a NBA TEAM!! not some "ESPN 2 Street Ballz Classic" D Miles yout NEXT! Trade his stupid azz for anything! who cares what they get back.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting OgShowtime:</div><div class="quote_post">How 'bout Miles coming back to the Clippers for, I don't know...Olden Polynice?</div> Haha. I'd actually make that trade though. A good veteran presence, and Polynice has gotten along with some real pros like Stock and Malone, not to mention all those guys on the old Sonics teams from the late 80's. Miles is worthless unless he actually developes a work ethic. As for Wallace, I too wouldn't put him on the same plane as Griffin and Miles, guys with tons of potential but no effort to get better. Wallace has actually done something, putting up near-all star numbers for several years and leading a team that makes the playoffs annually. But i still wouldn't want him on my team because of his attitude that, as a bball player, he's above certain rules. That's not true, and almost all successful players learn that early in their careers.
If Wallace gets to Cleveland, he would have to play SF again because of Carlos Boozer. He looks out of position in Portland and I do not think that as bad as he wants to leave Portland, he would want to go to Cleveland and end up in the same situation.
I agree with you franchise, he looks very uncomfortable at the three spot. Zach Randolph is also handling the boards now, and Rasheed seems resigned to letting him do so. I know this is his MO, but he's way too big not to be pulling down at least 9 or 10 rebounds per game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting OgShowtime:</div><div class="quote_post">but he's way too big not to be pulling down at least 9 or 10 rebounds per game.</div> Take in mind that he was last season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">Take in mind that he was last season.</div> 7.0 rpg is not 9 or 10. He averaged 7 rpg last season. In fact, he has never averaged anywhere near 9 or 10 rpg. His career high is 8.2 rpg, in the 2001-2002 season. His career average is only 6.8 rpg.
If Cavs trade for Rasheed, make sure they get his mother included in the trade. I can't think of a son who would act like a jackass in front of his mother.
I'm sorry to say I don't like him. I may just be bias against him and Wells because I see them as "mean" players as I've previously stated. They're worse then Chris Childs. One thing I will not say about Rasheed though is that, he's a bad player. He's just one of those hotheads because of extreme competition I believe. Basketball is very taxing mentally and physically, he must've felt like Rodman and Tyson. The need to be lean and mean in order to strive and survive. I just hope he bucks up if he ever ends up with other teams so that they won't be unlucky and wll benefit from his potential from maturity.
If Wallace comes to Cavs, I'll go far, far away into the wood and kill some rabbits and eat 'em, and I say this because I'm a vegetarian Not that he's a bad player, but he can be quite mad and angry, so this is the last trade I want now, of those I've heard of till now
if ya ask me-which nobody did id just try to ignore wallaces antics and let him play. hes aggressive, plays pretty good d, and is clutch when u need him. and itll help take some off the pressure off lebron.
