Due to the fact Green is now a Texan, who should be the next RB for the Packers? Heres my thoughs. I would like these three 1. Jamal Lewis 2. Travis Henry 3. Dominic Rhodes Depth Charts 1. Sign a FA 2. Marshawn Lynch Draft 3. Vernand Morency I would still use him in plays. I wouldn't put him on the bench
I don't know if Jamal Lewis would be a good fit for our Scheme, and im not a big Domic Rhodes fan, Henry I think would fit ok but he's one strike away from a 1 year suspension.

According to ESPN Insider the Packers have been in talks with Travis Henry's agent. I'd like to see Henry signed. He's 28 and will be 29 in October. He has under 1500 carries in 7 years so he's still pretty fresh. I'd pay him similar value to that of what Ahman Green received. I'd like to see GB run a 2 back system. All 4 conference championship teams ran 2 back systems. Signing Henry and drafting Lynch would be the best possible case for the Packers in my opinion. Signing Henry and moving down and taking Michael Bush would be nice to. Bush is a down hill runner which fits the zone blocking scheme. Signing Henry and drafting Brian Leonard would make sense as well.
Hm...I have no clue who fits in what scheme Or even what scheme each team has...Lol. So Henry is the best pick in your thoughts?
Yeah, I doubt anyone wants J Lew besides Denver and Baltimore. No one likes to see a 240-something pound guy dance around in the backfield.
Henry is off the list, he's agreed to a contract with the broncos, i believe it was a 5 year 14 million dollar deal. Lamont Jordan is expected to be released in the near future however, and I think he'd be an excellent back for the Packers, his skill set fits the WCO perfectly.

He'd fit the scheme pretty good but he's not a good long term plan in my opinion.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DaPackersGb)</div><div class='quotemain'>Wheres he from?</div> Lamont Jordan was the raiders back, I think he'd be a good fit, he seemed to try and step up as a leader last season.

For now, he's the #1 guy.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>John Murhpy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports free agent RB Chris Brown (Titans) has been in communication with the Green Bay Packers.</div>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'>That mean that Justin Griffith is def more of a possibility now then</div> I sure hope so. He's only 25 and he's had a lot of experience in the zone blocking scheme.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DaPackersGb)</div><div class='quotemain'>So if we get him as FB, who do you guys like as RB? Im now thinking of the Draft for the RB.</div> My guess is Marshawn Lynch, Michael Bush, or Brian Leonard end up being our feature back next year. I think the Packers are going to look via the draft and those 3 guys would be good fits.
Word is Rueben Droughns is being talked about, possibly a late rounder(6th or 7th) for him. He played pretty solid with Denver while in the ZBS and I could def see him fitting in this offense as a short term guy to split carries with. EDIT It appears as though Droughns is slated to be released in the next few days, which could mean the Packers wouldn't have to give up anything in order to bring him in.

The list gets smaller. <span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">Browns trade Reuben Droughns to Giants</span> CLEVELAND (AP) Reuben Droughns, Cleveland's only 1,000-yard rusher since 1985, was traded Friday to the New York Giants, who need a feature running back following Tiki Barber's retirement. In return for Droughns, who became expendable after the Browns signed free agent Jamal Lewis to a one-year, $3.5 million contract on Wednesday, the Giants sent Cleveland wide receiver Tim Carter. As part of a three-year, $12 million contract extension he signed last year, Droughns was due a $1.75 million roster bonus this month. But instead of paying him or releasing the 28-year-old and getting nothing in return, the Browns acquired Carter, a part-time starter who had 22 catches for 253 yards and two touchdowns last season.
