Knicks 11-10 They are the top lottery picks in the 1996 NBA Draft. These two are definitely the most exciting and should be watched out for. They average around atlaest 7+apg, and 20ppg. They can both score and pass. Both can usually score at will and have been hot as of late. Allen Iverson can not alone be held by Marbury, and vise versa. It will take a total team effort to ccontain either one of these players. If any team is down, both of them being leaders will have to be the catalyst of a run. This will be another fun one. My Prediction: The Knicks are very hungry for a win. Picture last nights win like this. You're about to eat dinner. You already had everything from the corn bread, to the maccoroni and cheese and now you're moving onto the chicken. The Pistons come barging into your crib in your snatch the chicken from your hand, eat it and bounce! That's how I felt as a fan witnessing this happen. I felt robbed of the main course. I expect the Knicks to play great basketball and Jamal Crawford to have another good game. I am goiung with the Knicks, with a score of around 98-90. I think the Knicks are simply the better team and are really hungry. I think with Houston just coming back their identity is still yet to be established. We saw how well they can play now, let's see how well they can keep this up.
Good preview. Let me see...both teams are going to be coming out with some "fire and desire". The 76ers have been hot as of late and are second in the Atlantic. The 76ers can almost taste being first in the Atlantic. The Knicks on the other hand are upset with their loss to the Pistons so their going to be looking to take out their frustrations on Iverson and his club. If our perimeter defense is on point we'll be able to win this game easily. But with Korver in the line up we wont be able to double team Iverson. Alot of his points come from Iverson's dribble penetration and then kicking the ball out to him for a three pointer. Marbury wont be able to contain Iverson so he'll be getting into the paint quite a bit, we have to hope Nazr can defend the paint like he did in New Jersey. I think you're underrating Dalambert mrj18. He's a good center. He can easily put up a double double and get a couple of blocks while he's at it. He can run as well. So Marbury and Crawford might have a rough time whenever they get too close to the basket. Crawford's defense will have to be good. Hamilton "posted and toasted" him Wednesday night by running around screens to get good looks at the basket. Crawford's defense made me long for the man we paid 20 million dollars NOT to play for us(I still dont get how do you pay someone not to do something for you, you can pay me to do that). Crawford can expect Korver to do the same thing as Rip except Korver will be shooting three's and wont be doing as much running. I still cant get over that wild three pointer by Kenny Thomas last season. But other then that he wont be too big of a deal unless they decide to run the pick and roll alot. As usual I believe our bench will be deciding factor(we do have a great bench you know). I predict 102-92 Knicks.
Halftime Knicks 50 76ers 61 Knicks Leading Scorers: Stephon Marbury: 11 FG's:4-8 Allan Houston: 10 FG's: 3-6 Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohammed have: 7 Nazr: FG's 2-5 Thomas: FG's:2-3 and 76ers Leading Scorers: Kenny Thomas: 14 FG's: 6-7 Allen Iverson: 13 FG's: 5-11 Willie Green: 7 FG's: 5-7 Hot at the Half: Allan Houston No one is really hot but, Allan Houston is the hottest. Marbury picked up fouls 3 fouls already. Houston has 10 points but, more important is his 4 assists. He has been shooting on a good percentage too. He had a pretty good first halfouting My Prediction: The Knicks aren't playing up to par at all. We are playing no defense and that's why Philadelphia is leading by this much. I still do expect a run from the Knicks. We need to pick it up defensively without getting into trouble and in addition we also need some more scoring from guys like Crawford and Mohammed. Mohammed is on a little slump and needs to play better. Hopefully things will get better in the second half. The last thing we need is another loss. Pick it up New York!
You said it homie. Welcome back Captain Houston. We're going into OT Baby!!! We didn't come this far to lose!
What a shot by Houston. Amazing comeback. Time for OT. Philly is 3-0 in OT but I think we're gonna win it. Honestly, I think we will - we have momentum.
IT'S OVER! A glorious win for New York. Williams, mArbury, Ariza, Sweetney, Kurt Thomas. All showed heart and the will to win. All I can say is that this team sent a message everywhere around the league: This team can win. Period. WOW
Now that, was a great game. Game MVP for me is Jerome Williams without a doubt. He brought intensity to the defensive end and never gave up. I think it fueled the rest of the players and learned to come together and win as a team. This was a much needed win for us after last night's tough loss.
OMG...Allan Houston's my man!!!! Man, I was mad, pisssed, angry, frustrated at halftime. I lost hope, until I saw the score was 90-81, I started having faith and now, they've won 113-107. 34-36(94.4%) from the free throws.
Final Knicks 113 Nets 107 Knicks Leading Scorers: Stephon Marbury: 27 Kurt Thomas: 16 Allan Houston: 15 76ers Leading Scorers: Kenny Thomas: 26 Allen Iverson: 24 Willie Green: 14 Player of the Game: Allan Houston A great game. We made won of our staple runs to get into OT and win it. To tell you the truth, this was a toss up betwenn H2O and JYD but, I figured we wouldn't even be into OT had it not been for that exciting clutch 3 at the end. Welcome back Allan Houston we missed you! To quote him: "God is a healer." Thank God Allan is back! Recap A very exciting game. I never gave up on my Knickerbockers. I always knew what we were capable of. Remember that Milwaukee and Dallas comeback last season? We started off cold and quickly fell behind. We were down by 19 and we never gave up. Big ups to that second unit of Sweetney, JYD, Ariza, Moochie, and Steph. We quickly made a mean fourth quarter run and were down by only 6. As time came down to the last second...BANG! H2O nails a clutch 3 to tie the game and send it to OT. We played very well in OT and even had a JYD facial. JYD definitely was a great factor for us. Philly had many chances to tie but, it was no avail as the Knicks hit their freethrows and iced th game. Great run for NY! Great game for NY!
If you listened to the post-game interview w/ JYD, he said that final play was originally drawn for Steph, but he saw H20 in the corner, and gave it to him instead. How crazy is that. Steph was open too.
Still dissapointed we lost to Detroit Pistons, as we have had a relatively easy schedule thus far. Nonetheless a win against a division opponent is always sweet. Welcome back Allan Houston, the question is could anyone else have hit that shot? Possibly ....... but when it's Allan Houston the chances are much higher, that's why we love the guy. Could the Nets become a threat though .....?
NO they wont Primetime. They have a great trio with Kidd, Jefferson, and Carter but, we have something similar to counter with Stephon Marbury, Allan Houston, and Jamal Crawford. They also have basically no frontcourt! NO C at all. Sure it makes them a bit better but, the Knicks have everything they have plus more. It will be on Sportsdesk, the radio, Sportcenter NBATV you name it. Definitely will spice up the rivalry. Not as much as effect as K-Mart and Kittles. But, atleast we have a little bit of exvitement and entertainment.
Nice win for the Knicks. Will carter want to play in NJ or will he play like he did in toronto. Knicks Analyst i like that sig.
