PG: Marbury needs to do something he hasn?t done much as a Knick?playing defense!! Last time no defense was being played, Iverson dropped 31 by halftime! Yes folks, halftime! He was penetrating through the defense when he felt like it. Marbury can?t get into foul trouble like he did last time well then again, the refs were mostly the cause of that. Anyway, Steph needs to play defense. So many people are riding Marbury because he can score, but they never take the time to look at how much his defender scored. Perfect example was in Sacramento. Marbury had I believe 38 points which is very good, however what isn?t is Mike Bibby (his defender) had 40 on him. Basically Stephon?s scoring is useless if someone scores more than him. Marbury needs to play defense tonight on the NBA?s leading scorer. Now I?m not at all saying shut Iverson completely (although the Knicks did it last year), but at the very least make things tough for him. Marbury is stronger, taller, and can match Iverson?s speed, but it?s all about effort on his part tonight. Iverson is a turnover machine and Marbury should exploit that along with Iverson?s bad FG%. One thing Iverson has which Marbury doesn?t is heart and tonight even if he doesn?t come out with more heart than Iverson, at least come out with some heart instead of stinking up the Garden with selfishness!

[IMG] vs. [IMG]
Kyle Korver is a threat from downtown as we are aware of. He probably should have won the 3 point contest, but Q was simply on fire! Anyway, the same thing goes for Jamal?defense. It?s not as if Korver is as good a shooter or has the experience like Rip Hamilton, so he will not be a threat like he was on Tuesday. He also doesn?t have to go throw thousands of screens set up by the 76ers so he will not have that much trouble the only question is the effort. Jamal is quicker than Korver and along with his long arms is capable of harassing Korver, but he seems just not to care at times. When you have such a threat on the wing, you have to contain him. Make him take bad shots, intimidate him enough for him to force turnovers and hurt the team. If he can make it tough for Korver shooting, you pretty much take him out of the game, at least on offense. If Jamal doesn?t have a good offensive night, but has a good defensive night, then it will be much better for us. Defense has been our #1 issue especially on the perimeter.

[IMG] vs. [IMG]
SF: Andre Iguodala has been a pleasant surprise for the Sixers. The small forward from Arizona is putting up almost 9 points and nearly 6 rebounds a game. Good rookie who will be squaring off against a not so good player. Tim Thomas got two quick fouls and was out of the game in Detroit, and hopefully decides to play better. Again, this should be a matchup Tim Thomas can utilize, but it wont be because, he is just that type of player. I would prefer Ariza or JYD on Iguodala because last game, I too many uncontested dunks by him. These two are defensive minded and as we know, the defense has been our primary issue. Let?s just wait until Herb makes his first substitution.

[IMG] vs. [IMG] ??? Due to recent trade
PF: Breaking headlines yesterday night and this morning, Chris Webber known as C-Webb, will possibly be making his debut in the World?s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden A.K.A. the Mecca of Basketball. What a debut of he comes! Webber doesn?t scare me the least bit. He is still a great player and all, but it is obvious he still isn?t the elite power forward he used to be a couple of years back. From what I have seen, he thrives off of jumpers now and doesn?t really take it to the post. Also his defense is a bit lackluster. Still a big threat, but we do have Kurt Thomas on him which should be good. Kurt Thomas who is one of the leagues best low post defenders, will have a tough matchup on his hands, but he always does and it doesn?t faze him. Kurt Thomas needs to put a hand in Webbers face and force him to take bad shots. If Kurt Thomas plays his game we should be good. I mean he did give KG a hard time and I think he is a worthier opponent. This is a 50/50 chance that Webber will make his debut against us. He can decide to play at home against who else than the Sacramento Kings? If he decides to have a practice session first, we are in for a much easier game.

[IMG] vs. [IMG]
C: Shot blocking menace Sam, against Nazr. Nazr who was embarrassed missing a possible game wining layup against the Sixers last meeting, might come out with a vengeance and try and prove something. He seems to usually play well against the Sixers and especially at home, however my only concern is that groin injury. He has not been playing well and I his numbers as well as the Knicks have been suffering because of it. I think we should put Kurt Thomas at the 5 and Sweetney at the 4, and once Nazr recovers completely than maybe reinsert him in the lineup depending on the performance of the previous one. Anyway, he has to be careful because with Dalembert patrolling the paint, it is almost locked up. If he shows a little bit of range, he can force Sam to step outside while giving Marbury room for penetration. That?s another thing why maybe Kurt should play the 5. Getting Dalembert to step out 15 feet will greatly reduce his shot blocking prowess. Dalembert is not an offensive threat so when Dalembert is on offense, it wont really matter whether Nazr or Kurt play him.

Knicks Bench Summary
It?s the same as always for our bench. Allan Houston and Jamison Brewer are both gone. Last time we played Philadelphia, our bench namely JYD and Sweetney were huge in getting us back in the game, but unfortunately, the refs at the end killed us. Anyway, they have to come out strong again. Ariza needs to play his usual good defense, Sweetney needs to grab the boards as usual, and JYD?s defense and hustle is needed. Our bench is very deep and tonight against the 76ers, they have to demonstrate their depth once again.

76ers Bench Summary:
With Corliss Williamson gone, the Sixers lose reliable scoring option. The Sixers however, do have a good bench though. Willie Green, veteran McKie and many others, provide sparks in games and give Iverson less pressure. They are good role players and don?t complain about their roles which is instrumental in creating a successful team. I still think the Knicks bench is better, but nevertheless, a good bench by Philadelphia.

Crossing Over With Marbury and Iverson PT. 2
?Starbury?[IMG] vs.[IMG]?The Answer?
Ladies and Gentleman, it?s back?the Matchup of the century, or at least my favorite. These are two great scorers trying to outdo each other. Last time Marbury did something, then Iverson repeated it but with more flair. Then after Iverson did something Mabury put more razzle-dazzle on it. Just a pleasure to watch and the best part about it was it was going down to the wire so both were fighting especially hard and trying to lead their teams to victory. We will see this again only on Marbury?s turf! It should be a fun one, and the best part is everyone can see it. It?s on TNT everyone!

My Prediction:
I love this game. This will be even the more interesting if Chris Webber plays, but if he isn?tI?m taking NY 105-92. If he is playing, I?m taking NY 105-93. It doesn?t matter. Knicks are at home and I just feel as if they will have that extra bounce to their step. I think it?ll be even better that they know it is on national television. I think they wont make their fans sorry like they did a couple of times in the past. Knicks should really win because they are at home. Philadelphia always seems to struggle at the Garden as of late and I expect it to continue. Let?s go Knicks!
THIS GAME IS AT 7:00 EASTERN TIME!!! IT?S NOT ON MSG IT?S NATIONALLY TELEVISED ON TNT!!!

After seeing how we've been doing in the first quarter I actually think that with SUSTAINED effort i.e. not just till half time, we can actually win this. Crawford is scoring pretty freely and Sweetney has been grabbing the boards. GO KNICKS

Excellent game. Kurt seemed refreshed with the news that he'd be staying, TT was electric as well. Great game, we played well tonight. Defense wasn't superb, but that's ok.

Yes!! Finally a Knicks win here. Great 2nd half performance by Kurt Thomas firing up those jump shots for the Knicks and a great shooting performance by Tim Thomas there, expectedly with 27 points. I'm so amped up right now with Mo Taylor and Malik Rose coming to the garden and hopefully this can take us somewhere through the rest of the season.

We win like was expected. Philly is no match for us, maybe with Webber they'll do better. Hot shooting by the Thomas'! Also Kurt with 21 and 12. I guess people still thinkhe's a bad rebounder? [IMG]

Marbury distributed the ball well as did everyone else. Crawford had 9 and Steph had 12 assists. We were playing good basketball in the 4th quarter and Philly couldn't stop our run. Sweetney did a solid job, but I wish he got more touches.

I wish Bruno played though, anyway it was a good game for us, and I think the Knicks will come out with this type of intensity on Saturday against the Indiana because they are at home too. With this win we are 4 games behind for a playoff spot, but I'd rather us make the playoffs.

I'm excited about Malik Rose, but Mo Taylor is a joke.

Let's see here, KT had a 20/10 night, TT almost had 30, Sweetney with 10/9 and, the key here, Marbury taking the back seat and still getting 17/12. This game pretty much proved the point that I've been making all year, and recently mrj has been making as well. Marbury is naturally selfish, but games like this when he is "just another teammate" are games where he looks like a winner. It's most likely an isolated incident, but I'm glad to see it happend against a team from our division. If only he played like that all the time...

Btw, Kerr said it himself that Ariza is a future all-star. I'm glad he thinks about Ariza that way and I'm glad that he and I feel he will have a great future.

Good game by the Knicks, the Sixers had only 8 players availlable, really playing 6 players the whole game(rogers and ollie played under 15 minutes I believe). But it was another usual Sixers 4th quarter collapse.Tim Thomas was tremendous today, too bad he cant be consistent.

Yeah, we had only 9 players though. Sundov didn't play though so it's more like 8. Actually, Rogers had 20 minutes yesterday. I was just as surprised as you on TT. He is capable of this every night, but sometimes he's rather chew gum than play a decent game of basketball. Hopefully he learns from this and plays better.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA , not being an idiot but really what are you thinking. You guys had players that were fire in the 4th thats all. We collapsed in the 4th quarter with you having Kurt Thomas hit literally every shot. Tim Thomas hit like 3 3's in a row, and you call yourself a better team? Please, we'd **** the **** out of you any other day. We had control the entire game, if you really think Knicks are a better team then the Sixers.... Then your as dumb as Marbury saying that he's the best PG in the league.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, So why is it every time the Knicks always seem to be the Sixers in the past few years, which including games where they overcame a 19 point deficit at Philadelphia to beat them, two comfortable wins this season for us at home, and a game where we were down by 12 in the 4th at Philadelphia, but the refs decided the game. Last season, you just beat us once and that had to go into double OT. So, the last 2 years, the Knicks have gone 6-2 on the "superior" Sixers. I didn't say we were better than them, I stated we usually play well against them especially at home. What's with this emregence of people not reading posts thoroughly??? [IMG]

... no where in there does it say that you guys are good at home thats all I gotta say peace. Oh btw, notice how you said you have to come back in 4th to win. Once playoff time rolls around and your in the bottom of the Atlantic Division, their won't be no coming back in the 4th quarter. PEACE

Well, no where up there, but if you read the actually preview, you might have found out. Wow your pretty upset that your Sixers got smacked. Well maybe not this year we'll be in the playoffs, but maybe next year. I guess you can cheer me up and tell me how it feels not going last year, huh? I was expecting them to win, and we won! Bad sportsmanship if you can't accept the fact that the Knicks usually beat your Sixers. And btw, you might be in the same boat as I am. The Celtics are on top of the division while Indiana has the 8th so your team is out of playoff contention as well right now. So, while your talking all of this smack, you might very well be in the lottery and not have such a hot pick either as opposed to someone at the bottom of the Atlantic.
