<div align="center"></div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The acquisition of Jamal Crawford gives the Knicks a trio of ultra-flexible guards capable of playing both back-court positions with equal panache. ?I know how effective that system can be,? Knicks President, Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas smiled at the memory. ?We won two world championships with the Pistons playing that style. I know it works as long as the three guys are the right guys. And I think Stephon (Marbury), Jamal, and Allan (Houston) aren?t all that different from the type of players we were: they can all shoot -- put up 20-25 points a night -- they can all pass the ball, and they?re all great pick-and-roll players. On the perimeter, if all three are healthy, they can become a nightmare to the other team. In fact, as far as back-courts go, this is about as good as it comes in our league.? Rather than a potential problem, Thomas sees three top guards jostling for playing time as an enormous advantage. ?I know it was for us when I was playing,? he said. ?It meant that none of us could let up for a minute. I would go out for a rest and Vinnie (Johnson) would come in and just go crazy -- and I wouldn?t get back into the game until the third quarter. So Vinnie, myself, and Joe (Dumars), we basically kept each other playing at our highest level.? Crawford, who requested to wear No. 11 in honor of Isiah, wholeheartedly agrees. ?First and foremost, I?m here to win games,? he said. ?As many games as possible. I know I?m here to be a piece of the puzzle. Starting -- or not starting ? amount of playing time, and the number of points I score are not important to me at this point.? ?I want to learn,? added the 24-year old Crawford. ?Hey, I only played two years in high school -- I was late starter -- and a half a season in college. I?m far from a finished product, and I know that. One of the reasons I wanted to come here so much was that I could be around, and learn from, Hall Of Famers. A Hall of Fame coach ? and a Hall Of Fame President.? ?For me, this is a dream come true -- I?ve always been a Knicks fan,? said Crawford. ?That?s why I always thought about playing here one day. Then when Isiah got here?that closed the deal.? ?I?ve seen Isiah?s Piston teams play a lot,? added Crawford. ?I?m a real fan of Classic Sports TV.? ?I think we can go as far this year as our talent takes us,? added the animated Crawford. ?Just look at this team: we?re young, we?re topnotch talented at every position, and we?re getting deeper and deeper. How far is as far? I think the sky?s the limit. Look what happened last year: everybody said the Lakers would win and the Lakers didn?t win. So, yes, anything is possible.?</div> Link ______________ Knicks Welcome Youth Of Crawford, Experience Of Williams Courtesy of Yahoo! Sports Other than the Yankees, I may finally have a home-team I can cheer for. This New York Knicks team is going to do some damage next season.
Can you hear that? It's the Knicks future being buried alive. I know Crawford is good but that still is a lot of cash to be throwing around for an erratic shooting guard <font size="1">(who thinks he is a point guard)</font> who has only shown glimpses of his talent. AND...they have to pay JYD for another 4 years at 25 million?? DAmn. IF Crawford pans out Isaiah keeps his job, but if this blows up in his face, you can kiss his arse goodbye next season. But the plain fact is: Thomas just took two bloated contracts and put the Knicks in a very bad position for the future.
