If someone already posted something to this affect, I apologize. I know I saw it somewhere, but can't find where... anyway... According to http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/phillies-expressed-interest-in-joba-chamberlain.html the Phillies are not among the clubs pursuing Joba... According to http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/36422/20130712/phillies_question_chamberlains_maturity/ the Phillies are questioning his maturity and additionally that "Chamberlain's value has fallen so far that one team that had an interest two weeks ago isn't going to make an offer because there is a belief the Yankees eventually will release him."
That belief Hammer is probably right. Honestly I just don't see the Yankees getting very much for him. If anything at all.
The Yankees ruined him with the joba rules. .. what a shame Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
In the end, I don't think Joba helped himself either. But the organization did jerk him around, I think he is the classic guy who will be better with a "change of scenery"
Could be. Maybe right now he's playing to the limelight. and who knows maybe in a smaller city he'll do better.
Right on the money Al. Joba came up throwing 100mph, best setup man in the game,no one could touch him and like mariano in 1996 the 7th and 8th innings were shut down. So what do we do? We jackass the kid around, he starts, he relieves, he starts but only pitches 1 inning or 5 innings or in 2 weeks to control innings. The result was the inevitable arm injury and end of joba invincibility. Now, Joba is counting the minutes to get out of here and looks and act like a punk including his nonsense with mariano.
