Who do you think will be next year's most improved player? I think a couple of potential candidates are Stromile Swift, Al Harrington, Samuel Dalembert, Darius Miles(as usual), Kwame Brown ( as usual), Tim Thomas (as usual)

Well I'm hoping for Darius Miles because ppl's have been waiting forever for this guy to be an all-star caliber player.

Out of those, I'd only say DMiles or Dalembert. However I think it's gonna take them one more or two more seasons to get this. Too much difficulty in becoming that great, that quickly.

For me, it has got to be a lot of those set to breakout, the real sleepers that're going to be good. Namely either DMase, especially since he's working on his game during the summer and in the Summer League and RJ, simply because he is going to become the future of the Nets and next season will be even more heavily relied upon.

I'm not sure about the rookies. I mean the trio of Lebron, Carmelo and Dwayne Wade is already too good to be eligible for an MIP award. As for the other rookies, i don't see anyone who progress that much in one year.

Chris Bosh might be a good MIP candidate... if he puts on some meat in his body.

Also possible MIPs: Dalembert, Tim Thomas, Harrington, if Flip Murray gets traded look for him also, Jiri Welsch showed some good shooting touch.. could improve alot if he's given more time and if Francis/Mobley gets traded I'd be looking at Bostjan Nachbar also to improve.

I was thinking mostly of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Lebron and Carmelo don't have much more improving left.

I think it will be Kwame Brown, Al Harrington, or Samuel Dalembert.

Kwame Brown was consistent all year, putting up numbers in double digits, I think he will turn a lot of heads this year.

Harrington will get more playing time, he was already a 6th Man of the Year candidate, He is my favorite as of right now.

Dalembert had a great end of the year, he is big and lengthy, he can score and block shots. He is going to be a star in this league one day.

What can Wade really do though, he has 16, 4.2 and 4.5, if he averaged 22, 4.5 and 5.3 or something its not going to warant him MIP.
Bosh I dunno either, he'll probably put up something like 15 points, 8-9 rebounds, and 1-2 blocks, he has 11 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.5 or so blocks this year, someone else will likely improve more.

Well, those on the C's that I can think of that might have a shot next year would be:

Jiri Welsch or Ricky Davis (whichever one survives the off-season)

and the name no one outside of Boston will think of:

    Kendrick Perkins. [IMG]

My pick is Samuel Dalembert. He played real well at the end of last season, and in the East, a big center like that can dominate.

He really wasn't great in LA. He couldn't hit a jumpshot in his 3 years there. All he could do was dunk and block shots.

I thought of Perkins, but Brandon Hunter was also impressive in the few starts he got till he went back to the bench.
    Etan Thomas?
Chris Kaman or Chris Wilcoz if he get's traded, Marcej Lampe, Michael Sweetney, David West.

Why no love for the Sleepers, all Rookies and those with potential? I see no sign of people for the breakouts eg. Dixon, Mike Miller, RJ and DMase.

Sweetney may not get the minutes he needs to win MIP. Say the Knicks bring in Rasheed Wallace, I don't know how much time Sweetney will get to play. He is going to be a real good player one day, just not sure if it happens next season.

If Eddy Curry gets traded to NY, he could definately be a front runner for MIP. I think he has a good future. He definately has talent, but he is very inconsistent. He has shown signs that he will become a real good, dominate center one day.

Ronald Murray already showed he can play in the NBA, and score. Sitting behind Ray Allen isn't helping him much though. If the right things happen, and he gets a chance to play real minutes for a team, he could easily be a 20 pt scorer.

I don't really like Rookies winning MIP. There first season, they show they have potential. Your not going to give LeBron, Carmelo, Hinrich, Wade etc. the MIP because they have already shown they can play. The first year is always a struggle, for most. So alot of the time, there sophomore year will get better because they are more comfortable. I don't think it is because there skill level drastically improved, it is just that they are more familiar with everything in there second time around.

Jeff McInnis will set the tone next year and become a huge player for the Cavs. Im looking to see JMac to have a career year next season.

If indiana gives J. Bender more PT, theni think he could breakout next year. It has been a while since he was drafted ('99) but hes still only like 23 or 24 or osmeitng like that, so he's still young. This year he scored like 7 points in 12 minutes per game, thats pretty good, IMO. So if he gets traded, which think there has been some rumors with him, or if he just magically gets more PT then i think he could breakout.

Eddy Curry. The kid is only 21 and has shown flashes of brilliance. He is also under the watchful eye of the intense and demanding Scott Skiles. Skiles has even said that Curry has never really been in playing shape. Mark my words, Skiles will fine tune Eddy Curry into what everyone has been saying he could be, a truly dominant center. Look for some significant changes next season in Curry's game.
