Well, the Packers and Vikings have been on a collision course all year and it all comes down to this one game. The edge obviously has to go to the Vikings because of their home field advantage. I imagine the Metrodome will be rockin' on Friday afternoon.

My prediction? Vikings 24 Packers 23

Talk about backing into the playoffs... The Packers/Jags game yesterday was just plain awful.

I don't know Pack, I gotta give the edge to the Pack. Tice is horrible in games that were preceeded by a short week, and even more terrible in games that are on national TV. Plus, I can't see Favre having a bad performance two weeks in a row.

I'll be in the Chicago area that day holding my breath for the entire 3 hours.

I have to give the advantage to Vikings this week because

    1. There in the Thunderdome (aka the Metrodome), best football field when it comes to giving the home team an advantage as it pretains to noise
    2. Brett Farve flat out sucks when he comes to Minnesota
    3. The Packers haven't won consecutive road games at Minnesota since 1987-88 and they won in Minnesota last year
    4. the overall record 43-42-1 in favor of the Packers

There are my points Vikings win 21-17 to bringing the overall series to 43-43-1 record and in the process winning the NFC North Division.

It's because Chicago stinks & I don't mean that foul odor rolling off Lake Michigan.

Both teams have been up and down this season. I'd be lying if I didn't think that the outcome of this game didn't matter. Neither team has shown enough dominance to have a real chance at winning the Super Bowl, let alone getting there.

With that said, I think the Packers will win because in the ups and downs, they're due for an up and the Vikings beat the Lions (barely) and are due for a down.

Wow, what a game! Well...if you're a Packers fan, I guess. What a tough, tough matchup. I don't think I've seen a more exciting game all year.

I just hope we don't somehow end up meeting the Vikings again in the playoffs. Yikes!

It was a great game. Both teams defenses are just plain horrible. All this game did for me, is increased my confidence in the Eagles winning the NFC. We might not have TO, but we did not give up 34 points to the Packers in the last 2 games combined [IMG]

What do you guys think of the refs giving a timeout for the measurement with 7 seconds left in the first half? That was a decisive call and proved to be equal to the difference in the game. I agreed with it at first, but here's what Tice said:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I don't understand why there needed to be a measurement because there were only 7 seconds left, so . . . what was he measuring for?" Tice said. "They [weren't] going to go for a first down. I didn't quite understand the logic behind giving them a timeout for a measurement when the clock was running and they were out of timeouts."</div>

I think I have to agree with him on this one.

Unfortunately this game left a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm working very hard at having a good holiday (I know, that's sad, isn't it?). It was a tough game to watch...Favre was incredible, Culpepper was incredible. Moss was obviously in a ton of pain and Robinson seemed to be hurting as well.

Our run defense was much better, but our pass defense left a lot to be desired. My only hope for this season now is that we get matched up against GB in the playoffs and we win. That's all I want now.

For that matchup to happen, there would be a 99% chance that it would have to be in the NFC championship game because of the way the playoff seedings work. Unless the Vikings lose next week and Carolina wins their last two... I think that's the only way it could happen outside of the title game.

Heck of a game yesterday. I think the Vikings and Packers going @ it again in the NFC c'ship would be fantastic.

FWIW, GB & MN is my favorite rivalry in the NFL after the phins & pats.

You may now quit rooting for Vikings, and start rooting for bears.
