If you’re doing your NFL betting online, you probably have been paying attention to all of the fuss surrounding coaches this year. The saga ended in Dallas with Wade Phillips getting fired, and now word has emerged that Minnesota has finally put Brad Childress out of his misery after the Vikings got manhandled at home against Green Bay. But it may not be over yet, as the Cowboys have been sparked by the coaching change, which means some other teams may follow suit. Marvin Lewis, Cincinnati The Bengals are in freefall after seven straight losses, and it may be time for both parties to go their separate ways. It was always a risk to bring Terrell Owens into the fold, and while he was telling the truth, calling your team “terrible” isn’t a good look. But where Lewis went wrong with a defense that was pretty good last year, and now they’re awful. Lewis is known as a defensive head coach, like Phillips was in Dallas, and if he can’t do that, what is he good for? Mike Singletary, San Francisco Many who make NFL predictions picked the 49ers to roll through the NFC West, and now they’re 3-7 and out of the hunt to even make the playoffs. The decision to start Alex Smith may have been poor for Singletary, who really should be given more time, but with the expectations coming into the season, he may not have much more time in San Francisco. Jeff Fisher, Tennessee It’s not even that Fisher isn’t a good coach anymore, but either he or Vince Young is going to be moved, and Fisher, who is the longest-tenured coach in the league as he’s been with this franchise since 1994, may be the one to go. It’s no secret that owner Bud Adams is a massive Young fan, and it’s also no secret that Young and Fisher don’t like each other, especially after last week’s blowup. He’ll get another job, though. Gary Kubiak, Houston Look, it’s just not working. Kubiak is a great offensive mind and he’s been brilliant at getting scores with his Houston offense, but that defense is terrible and it doesn’t look like he’s getting any closer. The Texans, who have been led by Kubiak since 2006, have never made the playoffs, and can you seriously say that you can see it happening soon? We’ve been saying that since 2008. John Fox, Carolina The Panthers have been hurt all year, they have no quarterbacks to speak of, but someone has to pay, and it’ll likely be Fox, who has been in Carolina since 2002. The players seem to have tuned him out, and there really isn’t a need to keep him for the rest of the season. The Panthers need to start rebuilding (although that likely means losing Steve Smith) if they want to improve their online sports betting odds.
