    Online Sports Betting Overview

Game four in Madison Square Garden looked so promising for the New York Rangers. The Rangers scored three goals in the second period and the fans were having a great time yelling at Washington head coach Bruce Boudreau. But, just like the online betting for Kentucky Derby winners, you never know how it is going to end until it is over.

By the time game four was over, the Capitals were up 3-1 in the series and the Rangers fans were very quiet. To add insult to NHL injury, New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 49 saves in that game as his defense crumbled in around him. It was a night that the Rangers would like to forget, but their head coach John Tortorella will probably not let them forget it. Now the series shifts back Washington where the pay per head consequences for another Rangers collapse would be an early exit from the 2010-2011 playoffs for the New York Rangers.

    Washington Capitals
It looked like Bruce Boudreau was going to pull rookie netminder Michal Neuvirth from the game in the second period of game four. But, rather than pull his goalie, Boudreau leaned on his team to play better defense. The team responded and scored three goals of its own in the third period. The Capitals have been victims to their own sloth all season long. They get lazy from time to time and expect their reputation to win games for them. Game four was a wake-up call for the Capitals and it reminded them that the best teams work for every win on every shift. The chances that you will see the Capitals collapse around Neuvirth for the remainder of these playoffs is very unlikely. The Capitals are focused and very determined to finish this series on home ice in game five.

    New York Rangers
Henrik Lundqvist looked extremely angry in the post-game interviews of game four. The three third period goals from the Capitals were all the result of defensive breakdowns by the Rangers. The overtime goal was the result of a terrible play by the Rangers’ defense right in front of goaltender Lundqvist. The Rangers looked completely lost in the third period and the overtime, and they are unlikely to recover from that in time for game five. The Rangers’ defense played a horrible game all night long, but the offense bailed out the defense in the first two periods. Once Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin decided to keep the puck away from the Rangers’ offense, the game was over.

    The Bottom Line
The Rangers were no match for the Capitals going into this series, and the Rangers are lucky to have one win in this series. Alex Ovechkin is a game changing player, and he is supremely motivated to eliminate the Rangers in front of the Washington home crowd. Judging by the way the Rangers defense played in game four, there is not much the Rangers can do to stop Ovechkin and the Capitals at this point.

    Pick: Washington Capitals
