In a report posted on its website on Monday, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has revealed that it is investigating the problem of power steering failure on additional 938,000 Ford cars after the automaker recalled nearly 1.1 million vehicles this year due to the issue.

According to the NHTSA's report, the investigation covers 938,000 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ cars from model years 2010 through 2012; as well as Mercury Milan from model years 2010 and 2011. The investigation includes gas-electric hybrid versions of the vehicles.
