Wow. Leonard has a great endorsement opportunity with ProActic.

Funny. Eggers mentions Woods as a former SL MVP. A poster or two blasted myself and a few others for mentioning this a few times.

Is anyone absolutely sure (as in provide proof) that he wasn't the MVP in 2002?

I know he was the leading scorer and on the all-rocky mountain review team in 2003, but I couldn't find any definitive proof of how he did his rookie year.

Wasn't that his best summer league?

I thought so, but I think he only played in two and I thought he looked good in his first one. The problem is that I can't find any box scores or info because the Rocky Mountain Review is now defunct.

Yeah, it's too long ago. Here's a link I found with some info on top scorers. http://hoopshype.com/summer_leagues/rocky.htm

Look an Ime Udoka and Freddie Jones sighting!

You gotta love the ringing endorsements of Lillard and Leonard from coaches like Doc Rivers and Eric Spoelstra. This may end up being one of the best drafts Portland has ever had.

...the summer that Qyntel outplayed everyone, including Carmelo Anthony! What a phenomenal waste of talent he was, does anyone know if he is still playing basketball somewhere?

Because it's not true. It's perpetuating false information to the point where it's accepted as fact. Politicians do it all the time. Repeat something often enough and it eventually becomes accepted as fact. Such behavior can be expected from posters on an internet forum, but I expected better from a professional journalist like Kerry Eggers.

Woods played OK at the 2002 Rocky Mountain Revue (averaged 12.7 PPG), but didn't make the all-Revue team or win MVP. Complete 2002 Rocky Mountain Revue Stats for all players here..

And seriously, it took me 5 seconds to find that link. I just typed 2002 Rocky Mountain Revue into Google and that was the very first search result - the official stats from nba.com.

It is also just as quick and easy to learn that Lonnie Baxter, not Qyntel Woods was the 2003 Rocky Mountain Revue MVP. You'd expect a professional writer like Eggers to do a better job checking his facts. Seriously, it would have taken him 5 seconds to get it right, but instead he continues to perpetuate incorrect information. I expect this from Canzano, but I expect better from Eggers.

Yeah I think he was playing in a Polish league. Now it looks like he is in an Israili league per wikipedia.

Yeah, he was kicking ASS in Poland. He even played in the Euroleague last year because his Prokom team (best in Poland) made it. He was interested in getting back in the NBA, but the money in Israel is pretty good.

He will be playing in Minnesota soon since he is both a former Blazer and playing overseas.
