Very nice draft for the Hawks. First Childress. Many thought he'd slide a bit, but he was grabbed by the Hawks at #6. Nice pick. When asked if he'd play the SF or SG, he said he'd like to play the SG more than SF. Next, Josh Smith. Very versatile athlete, very explosive athlete, and he's a local boy. Great player. One problem is that Jay Bilas says Josh Smith is nothing without his left hand and is most likely to be a bust. Let's see if Smith can prove him wrong. And lastly, Royal Ivey. If your looking for defense, here's your man. Ivey will straight up HARASS you on defense. He needs to work on offense but no problems on defense.
i wanted the hawks to get duhon at 38 so baddddd. ive never seen royal ivey play so i dont know if hes good or not. im happy wit our first 2 picks childress and smith though.....r there any hawks fans in this forum becuz i never see much action in the hawks section. newayz good draft for the hawks.
I think Childress would be your best bet, however seems any of these guy would do for you since your team lacks so much and is very poor in pretty much all aspects and areas of the game. So anyone with any possible skills or advantages is probably gladly welcomed.

He was one of the best defenders in college basketball, well I think so. His scoring isn't exactly there but some nights he can go off and score big. I also forgot Donta Smith. Donta committed to Louisville and I, at first, didn't even think he was going to get drafted. His stock increased big time and some mocks had him going in the first round. One problem with him is some people don't think he will play hard enough. And some site has them with a draft grade of a C? I thought they did better than that.
Not too bad for the Hawks. Childress was a good pickup at 6, and hopefully he can contrubite to the Hawks immediately. His long arms could cause problems for players trying to get around him and because of that - he can play multiple positions. This offseason however, he needs to hit the gym and bulk up. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One problem is that Jay Bilas says Josh Smith is nothing without his left hand and is most likely to be a bust.</div> I've heard that as well. Josh needs to improve his ball handling, shot selection, and low post game. I think he should have gone to college for at least a year, because he just doesn't appear to be ready for the NBA. Hopefully he can prove everyone wrong.
