Ron Gardenhire and the Minnesota Twins have always been mindful of pitch counts for their young starters, never wanting to tax their arms too much and risk injury. That philosophy went out the window for Nick Blackburn on Tuesday night, simply because Gardenhire didn't have many options in his beleaguered bullpen. Blackburn threw a career-high 127 pitches for a desperately needed complete game and Denard Span had three hits and an RBI to lift the Twins to a 4-2 victory over Seattle on Tuesday night.
