Nike signed Yao in 1999 to a four-year, $200,000 contract, which expires in May. But the Beaverton, Ore.-based company has so far held back from capitalizing on the player's disarming smile, self-deprecating humor, earnest attempts at English and coming-to-America success story.

Once Yao starts dominatin in the NBA, then Nike would change their minds.

Very dumb move for Nike. Yao has a ton of upside and will be dominating in a few years. Nike should grab him now and sign him to a long term contract I think. However this could just be Nike pushing away Yao until they can sign Kobe.

That'd be pretty funny to see Yao sign with And1 because And1 sponsers high-flying, streetball types of players (KG, Marion, Marbs, etc.) so Yao would be the odd man out, unless he all of a sudden develops a nasty crossover...

I cant imagine someone 7-5, having a cross-over. Im sorry. If he did we should call him the 'god of basketball".
