    Ok here's my weekly rant.

Niners need a win BAD. They basically have no chance the rest of the season and need to build some momentum as soon as possible if they have ANY hope of making the playoffs.

Too bad they face the defending super bowl champs, who just happen to have a HUGE chip on their shoulder from getting creamed last week by cleveland.

I can sum up the Niners chances in three words. Time of Pessesion. They need to keep the Giants off the field, and grind out some long drives. Look for Martz to take this game very seriously and establish as much offensive strength as they can. I have a feeling Martz is coaching for the head coach job at this point, if he can show some progress with the offense, the HC position is his to lose for next year.

They need to hit Eli Manning early and often, make him wish he wasnt playing with the chest bruise. They need to force feed Frank Gore, and get him a few more touches in the passing game. Patrick Willis needs to fly arounf the field like a man possesed. We need to drug the Giants with LSD, and let them pick flowers from the 50 yard line.

Lets do this boys, im getting REALLY sick of ONLY having 5 super bowl victories.

This is what makes football interesting. Just a few games into the season and you might miss the playoffs. Niners have to play their best football of the season and might need some luck. I hope Eli doesn't play at 100 percent.

I hope so, but the Giants were embarrassed on Monday night and they'll want to take it out on the 49ers this week. The 49ers pass blocking is horrific and the Giants have arguably the best front four in the league. Advantage GMEN.

yeah, if we had a better o-line, i could really see some of martzs schemes working a little better.

The 49ers haven't had a good O-Line since the '90s. Our rebuilding process has been awful since the York's took ownership.

I have my doubts. Cleveland dismantled our defense with dominant offensive line play that took our front 4 out of the game. They used a lot of screen passes, check downs, and slants to get the ball out of the pocket before our blitzers reached the QB. Now if you look at the Niners' offense, you'll notice that its built almost the exact opposite of that. Their O-line is absolutely terrible and probably won't be able to neutralize our front 4. And Mike Martz' playbook relies on deeper passes that take a longer time to play out. All of that's led O'Sullivan to be the most sacked QB league (23 times) and Martz has never been the one to radically adjust his philosophy, so I think he'll see more of the same tomorrow.

San Francisco is certainly capable of upsetting NY, but they'll have to do it with their running game and D. And that kind of plays to the Giants' strengths.

When our #1 pick goes to Alex Smith we have issues. We should have traded down and stockpiled picks instead.. We need EDDIE BACK!

Not as bad of a blowout as I expected, it was fairly close.

They did try to trade down, but no one wanted to trade up that year.

The Giants dominated the entire game. I'm surprised JT survived this game, he was sacked 6 times and knocked on his butt several times today. He had 3 turnovers today and gave up a Safety.

The 49ers only had 35 rushing yards in this game. Our O-line is pathetic.

I was sleeping when the game was on, the score doesn't make it seem that bad. JT had two interceptions though, which probably hurt them.

You wouldn't have scored in the second half and it would've been a 22 point loss if Manny Lawson didn't go crazy and block that FG. I'm still impressed by that block. I don't think I've ever seen a player hurdle two offensive linemen like that. Does anyone have a video of it?

That was an incredible play. It took Stockton and Aikman four replays to figure out what happened, and even after that it was like "ho hum". How about you stop blabbing about the fucking Cowboys and WATCH THE GAME!! A guy just made an amazing play you might only see once or twice in your life. How about acting like you give a shit about the game you are calling.

Stockton said the block was because Feagles bobbled the snap, which he did not - he made a good play and put it down cleanly. Lawson just owned.
