Is it just me, or are the NJ nets in sinking mud? do their future look good, when Martin has left and kidd asking for a trade?
If they not do something quick, they can end up beeing a noncontender for a championship ring....

Nets are very well in trouble, giving up Martin was a very big mistake. Now it will lead to J-Kidd wanting to leave, it's a big 'Domino Effect'.

Nah, the Nets are not in trouble. Its not like they dont know what they are doing. The Nets are looking forward 2,3 years. Who cares about how the Nets perform in thier old ***tty stadium (trust me I have been there, and I dont know too many others who have) In 2,3 years is when they will officially move to brooklyn, and trust me, they are gonna be doing better than they were past three years. No domino effect is going to occur, Kidd is a reasonable guy, Jefferson will get over it, and Rod can certainly convince them to stay. Rod has done alot for Kidd, and its time the Kidd did a favor for Rod [IMG]. This season the Nets'll get Nenad Kristic, and in 2,3 years he'll develop into a good quality center/pf. The Nets trade was not a mistake, it was an inevitability. Maybe if the Nets were in Brooklyn, it would have been a differant story, but they were stuck with the Meadowlands, that did not sell out every playoff, and averaged the third lowest attendence. So be gone Martin and your soon to be depleted knees.

Does three strikes mean you are out truly out?

i think the nets were in trouble the year after they went to the nba finals the first year.

I think there problem was thay didnt have a legitimat center.

Mistake ( strike ) number one not keeping nor playing mutombo and also not getting legitimate compensation for him.

Mistake ( strike ) number two the alonzo mounfing saga.

pluses this team realized there potential was dwindling with easter teams stacking up so they decided to try to go for the future now with there star pg being injured.

Mistake ( strike ) number three not trying to get anything legitimate in returm for Kenyon martin.

Lastly i have not been keeeping up on draft prospects so i dont know wheta up the nets sleeves . I figure they might be loooking at a few prospects and are trying to keep there door open fot he future.

The Nets are in trouble for the short term but hopefully not the long term 3 or 4 years down the line. Hopefully the Nets use these 3 picks very wisely even if they use 1 or 2 of them as part of a trade in the future instead of using all the draft picks for themselves, which is very likely. The Nets have alot of contracts expected to come off the books at the end of next season, which will give them cap space to work with.

And how the Nets go about handling Jason Kidd will be very important, not only from a kidd & Nets standpoint, But also from a Richard Jefferson standpoint. If the Nets make the wrong move & end up giving kidd up for nothing basically, then its garunteed that RJ will not want to be a Net for the long term.

You'd have to rank the Nets among the teams that are sinking. I don't like
their mix very much at this point, but some teams can turn it around in a year
or two with the right moves. Look at Denver now.

What did the Nets get for Martin, three first picks right? I don't think their future is in deep trouble since they're going to get two first round picks for the next three years but next season they're not going to be an elite Eastern team. If they can draft the right players they'll be a good young team.
