<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bulls general manager John Paxson doesn't rule out moving down in the draft, if he can still get a player he likes. Utah, with picks 14 and 16, has talked about trading up. There's no telling if the Jazz likes a draft prospect enough to discuss sending the No. 14 pick and Matt Harpring to the Bulls for No. 3 and Eddie Robinson.</div> Link I personally don't like this idea, Matt is better than E-Rob, and after Okafor and Howard, the talent you get at #3 is as good as you would get with pick 6 or 7. Also, I heard a seperate rumor that is the same as this but Jerome Williams instead of E-Rob. I like Williams better but he's no Harpring.
I don't like it. Utah should go after the Clippers #2 pick. If they draft Deng with the 3rd pick, that wont help out AK47 progress and it wouldn't suit either of them. They may take a guy like Livingston with the 3rd pick, but why? They need size, and the 3rd pick isn't really helpful to them at all. Edit: I forgot about how much cap space Utah have. Utah are weak right now at PG. Arroyo, Lopez and Williams are good, but they will probably never be anything more than good, so let's say they take Ben Gordon with the #3 pick (they don't like high schoolers and wont take Deng with AK47 there). They could try a trade for Arroyo for Gooden, with some fillers if necessary. They could sign Swift and Okur and soon their starting lineup would be something like this. PG: Gordon SG: Giricek SF: Kirilenko PF: Swift C: Okur They will have a good bench also, and a young team. They could make a playoff run, and will be very good in a few seasons.
I'm a Bulls fan, so of course, I want it to go down. Although, from Utah's POV, it's not a fair trade. E-Rob is a decent defender, but on offense he is as soft as they come. He refuses to go into the lane because he's afraid of getting injured. He has great athleticsm though. Harpring, on the other hand, is as tough as nails, and a very hard worker who can hit the open J, exactly what the Bulls need. Also, the 14th pick gives us some options. We could draft Luke Jackson with the intention of keeping him, or get a good low post defender and package him with Antonio Davis for Michael Finley. Utah has some options with this too, though. With the 3rd, they could again trade the picks to ATL for 6 and 17, although im uncertain whether you can trade the pick again, but I don't see why not. At the 6th pick they could draft Andris Biedrins, and have even more international talent. This will allow Kirilenko to thrive at the '3' spot. At 17, players like David Harrison, Peter John Ramos may slip, and Kris Humphries. They should probably get a different player at the 6th pick upon getting Humphries, maybe Childress or Igoudala to play the 2guard. Both teams could end up looking like: Bulls C-Curry PF-Chandler SF-Harpring SG-Crawford, or Finley with the trade i suggested PG-Hinrich Jazz C-Harrison PF-Biedrins SF-Kirilenko SG-Giricek PG-Arroyo or.... C-Ostertag PF-Humphries SF-Kirilenko SG-Igouala or Childress PG-Arroyo Just my $.02
This is a good trade for Utah, with third pick they could get Deng to start and ERob as a pretty good back up. I am not really a Jazz fan but I think AK47 could play th 4 and Deng 3, and Deng has a lot of potential to lead the Jazz for a lot of years
Deng won't fit with Utah, he needs to play SF, as does AK-47. They're both natural '3's. But what i suggested the trade for #6 and 17, could get them a shooting guard to replace Harpring and a Center, so they'll have both more scoring and size, what they lack.
