After an overpowering 4-1 victory over the Spurs, a loss to Boston would go down as an upset. Whoever wins the West would be the eventual champs right? So what happened? Defense. Or didn't happen. The Lakers looked lost on the defensive end. I wouldn't call Pierce' shots as driving layups, more like walking layups. A lot of times Pierce looked surprised on how open the lane was, he even hesitates before he make his move. Even then, LA wasn't able to recover. It wasn't that Boston's offense was that good, it's just that LA's "D" was that bad. Ray Allen can make shots with a hand in his face, much more if he had an eternity to take one. Pierce can make a layup with a body on him, what did they expect? Pierce would miss a layup if it was wide open? Kevin Garnett had the worst series in these finals. His scoring was down, his shooting percentage was down and his freethrow percentage was down. Game 6 was his best game with 26 points and 14 boards. The first 5 games, Garnett was average, except for his rebounding. Kobe could not have done it any better. All season long he did his best in getting his teammates involved. From Sasha to Radmanovic to Gasol to Odom, he got them into a level where they can compete with the best of the league. Everybody said that Pau is soft... well, he is. I thought the invisible man only exists in comic books. I guess "Mr. Invisibleman" himself, Lamar Odom, proved me wrong. If only a game consists of 1 quarter, Lamar would be a candidate for MVP, hands down! If there is one thing I thought that Kobe did wrong, its not taking charge from the very first second. He should not have waited too long to take over. It was a no brainer for the Celtics defense. Odom and Gasol disappears, send everybody to Kobe. The Lakers should be champs. Not taking anything away from Boston, they saw an opportunity, they took it. KG and Allen deserves a ring. And Paul Pierce? I never liked the guy, so I don't think he deserves a ring. He should thank KG and Ray. But you can't help but give the guy credit for stepping up during these finals. MVP? Why not. But I still don't think he deserves a ring. Maybe it's time for Kobe to bring old no. 8 back
Why post this here? (even though you are right on all of those points, except for the Pierce comment, he stayed in there for Boston for all those years) I only say this cause all us Laker fans are already down on ourselves big time, and saying all this in an obnoxious manner (even though you ARE right) doesn't help. Could've waited at least a day or post this in the Boston forum. Just out of class at least.

We can air out our own opinions on certain subjects and at the same time hear others for their own perspective or position on the matter. We may choose to accept or reject it, again, it is still our prerogative.
