<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Memo to the Bulls, Nets, Celtics and any other team hoping to steal Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies: Keep dreaming. "The one thing I would like to make entirely clear is that it's going to take some kind of incredible deal for us to trade him," Grizzlies president Jerry West said Wednesday. "Our owner has said if we can accommodate him and satisfy our needs, we'd consider it. But if people think that there's a fire sale going on here, that's not the case." Gasol created waves around the NBA this week when it was reported that he had talked to Memphis owner Michael Heisley about a trade. While the 7-foot All-Star forward never issued an ultimatum, he apparently told the owner he wanted to play for a contender. With the Grizzlies struggling on the court and in the midst of a sale, Heisley said he was open to accommodating him. Since then rumors have been flying that Chicago, New Jersey and Boston, among others, have made serious pitches for Gasol. In a phone interview Wednesday, West said he had received a few calls from general managers interested in talking trade. He acknowledged having talked to the Bulls, specifically, but he said nothing "definitive" had come out of the conversation. As for reports that he had asked the Bulls for Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, P.J. Brown and Chicago's first-round pick, West wouldn't comment on specifics. "Obviously they have some players attractive to us," he said. "But we're not going to do something that doesn't make sense for us ... and that goes for not just the Bulls. That goes for any team." The Nets desperately need a big man, but don't appear to have the assets necessary to pull off a deal. It is doubtful the Grizzlies would take Vince Carter, especially since he can opt out of his contract after the season. The Celtics have a budding young talent in Al Jefferson and a first-round pick, but no All-Star types (other than Paul Pierce) or expiring contracts.</div>http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...asol/index.html Looks like he might not be going anywhere.
If the Girzz trade Gasol, Then It better be for a player of equal stature. I dont think the nets will give up carter and the bulls gordon. And Gasol is the franchise player. So, I think he might stay his career there, but now a days you never know.

Ill just pray we get the number 1 or 2 pick with NY's draft pick.
Gasol is an offensive big man who not only can score but rebound, block shots, and dish out assists. Once he gets hot he can really light it up from the floor, commanding double teams. He has good offensive awareness, and will find the open man when he gets double teamed. If the Bulls made that trade they would have the best front court in the league with a starting 5 of Ben Wallace Pau Gasol Andres Nocioni Dahntay Johnes (What does Memphis think they are getting a 2 for 1 sale? Jones better be thrown in with Gasol if they expect 2 young stars a role player and a draft pick) Kirk Hinrich with Chris Duhon, Tyrus Thomas, and Thabo Sefolosha coming off the pine I think they can make it to the finals. In my mind a fair trade would be Pau Gasol, Dahntay Johnes, [and maybe their 1st round pick (#1-3)] for Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, P.J. Brown and CHI 1st round pick (#9-11) Trade works in ESPN trade machine http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...ms=29~29~29~4~4 <div class="quote_poster">michiganave17 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Okay lets just trade the entire franchise then we would be in disarray like memphis. so we would be giving up about 50 points a game for 20 LOL!!!! Besides Chicago and Atlanta are hogging all the young talent and can't even use them.
