Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik confirmed Monday that quarterback Josh Freeman likely will enter the 2013 season without a new contract. Dominik, in radio interviews Monday, said "no one's in a hurry" to extend Freeman's contract and that the quarterback wants to "maximize his ability" before negotiating a new deal. Freeman became the franchise's first 4,000-yard passer and also threw for more touchdowns in a season than any player in team history, but his inconsistency contributed to the late slide that knocked the Bucs out of playoff contention. He had back-to-back games where he threw four interceptions in December during the team's five-game losing streak late in the season.
