They were suprisingly in the game till the end. Fisher took a bonehead 3 point shot and the Warriors couldn't get a shot off to end the game...whats new?

Man I sure miss Baron, this team is garbage without him. Bynum runs the point better than Fish.

Agreed, its absurd to me that so many fans think we're better off without Baron. Maybe Baron isn't a guy who will single handedly lead a team to the playoffs (but then again neither is KG) but if hes surrounded by guys who can hit shots he can be a huge difference maker. What makes him such a threat is that he can score but if the defense collapses too much on him he can create opportunities for others, the problem is that when the others don't hit those shots it becomes much easier to smother Baron.

totally agree..you see how in the first month this season everything was going so well..it was because everyone was on point. Good chemistry, making shots, FISHER COMING OFF THE BENCH, and an uptempo kinda game. But once we lost the confidence and one of our key players baron..everything went down hill from there. People started to go into slumps people pretending to be someone they aren't.

I liked Monta and Ike in this game. Monta showed a good foundation for being a very good combo guard, being able to switch from SG to PG as he made some nice passes and ended up with five assists and zero turnovers against a pretty solid defensive unit. Ike played great and ended the game shooting 8-11, and I believe that at least two of those missed shots were plays where Ike was absolutely hacked on and of course missed the shot. Getting those 4 offensive fouls doesn't help, but hopefully the refs will give him slack in the paint more often, both by calling fouls when he does get fouled and maybe by letting him get away with being a little more physical in the paint without the offensive foul. Ike looked like the player the Warriors were looking for in last year's draft in terms of being that go-to guy in the paint.

Finally, I really want to see Pietrus somehow get something going with the team. He seems like the man who is not asserting himself with the team enough or is not included as much into the team's game plans as he should be to really get to this guy's tremendous potential. He seems to be doing some more of the little things better in terms of handling the ball and passing, playing under control, and cutting a little more rather than standing on the perimeter. I really want it to come because if he's not performing so well, and it continues through the next few games and into next season, it's going to be difficult to deal him with his talent and tools, but with an expiring contract, it may end up being the smart thing to do, to trade Mickael during next season.

Damn, remember when Fisher was shooting 50%? Those were the days...

I agree, but it's not why I want to trade Baron. You have to consider other factors:
    1. Baron's 26 and yet he had injuries that limited him from playing all season. IF the Warriors make the playoffs, then we're adding a second season on top of 82+ games.
    2. While Baron is a supreme playmaker and passer, but like you said, he needs someone to pass it to. If he can't, then he tends to shoot it himself and he's not a great shooter even though he can score at critical moments.
    3. Baron's attitude. Not listening to the coach is a huge problem.
    4. We don't have the complementary players to get to the POs. Baron had PJ Brown, Mashburn and Wesley with the Hornets and even then they eventually traded him.

One or more of the above factors will likely come into play as his Warrior career continues. I rather trade Baron in a package with Murphy and MP and try to maximize what I can get for him now. It requires a bold decision to trade him since he's considered one of the Warriors best players.

We all know the fantasy deals:
Baron and Murphy for KG and Jaric, Pierce and West or Magloire and TJ Ford.

Highly unlikely, so we have to make do with what we can get.

JV, all of those points are very valid and true. Even if we did trade him, the longer he stays with us and helps the team the more value he'll gain, right now hes still the same injury prone bad atitude guy to most GMs but if we make the playoffs next year his value will be much higher. Baron's durability is a concern but come playoff time hes proven that he'll step his game up, when he was in the playoffs with the Hornets he regularly got triple doubles and really stepped up in the absence of Jamal Mashburn.

In response to #'s 2 and 4, Baron is one of our stars, we shouldnt get stars who fit with our role players (who generally suck) but rather get role players who fit with our stars. Our young guys look like they will be a good fit with Baron, they can catch the damn ball and finish inside but how long will it take for management and coaching to play them and/or get rid of the older guys? Baron has too much talent to let go, if we trade him we are only going to get back a few role players and we'll be right back to where we've been the last decade plus where we've got no one who makes the other guys better. This team will get alot further building around Baron and J-Rich than they will building around J-Rich, Murphy, and Dunleavy.

I'll say this again, give Baron strong power players in the 4 and 5 and see what happens. Baron's not our weakness, our frontcourt is.

Yeah. Trading Davis is like a trading a ticket to the next level. As good as Richardson has been, he doesn't have an ability to improve entire team to the next level just yet, and with Davis' trading value being low, we are not going to get a similar player in return. Also, I believe his current injury is more toward "Our season is over, so there really is no reason to comeback" type of injury, and if it is indeed so, he has been relatively durable. David did get highlighted in whole Monty-Davis feud, and it is indeed a big problem, but the fact is that players aren't exactly listening Monty at this point either. So, I will give another chance to Davis to see if it was really Davis' fault all along. Also, if Davis can get a big man like Dampier, who can stay inside, eat up space and put the ball to the basket strong, he would have had a field day. We do not have that type of role players. But that doesn't mean we should trade Davis. Instead, we should try to get those type of role players...

I agree with Kwan, build around Davis and get him players that complement him. Not trade him away. Dunleavy, Murphy, Foyle are definately not players that complement him.

It depends who we can get to pair with Baron since he and Ike don't mesh.

IF the W's can get a stud front court player who can score and Baron can pass to, then hopefully it will keep him happy and not shot happy. Still, we should keep an open mind about trading Baron.

How do we know Ike and Baron don't mesh? I say thats a very inconclusive statement. Ike barely even plays. And when he did play with Baron it was at the 5 position... damn you Monty!

I hope we keep everybody that's consistently good (Richardson/Baron/Murphy) and give the rookies a chance to shine when they're ready. I hope later down the line we can upgrade Murphy or find a scoring solution at center. Ideally, we should two shotblockers on the floor with all around defense, some passing ability, that can score from midrange and in the post... I don't like sub 40's % shooters. Which means obviously I ain't too fond of Baron or Murphy. But what other talent do we have? I think Murphy can be a good high % shooter but that means keeping the ball out of his hands and finding him wide open from certain spots. Also, he can't settle for threes like he seems to do these days (as a floor spacer).

Baron... he can't shoot free throws and he can't shoot wide open shots consistently when teams play off him. Not sure if he'll ever be a good shooter, but damn I hope he has a Jkidd personality to not take so many damn shots he can't make.
