<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets have lost five straight without star forward Carmelo Anthony and face the prospect of halting that skid without All-Star Kenyon Martin as well when they face the Golden State Warriors on Monday. After opening the season 2-5, the Nuggets had won 10 of 12 before Anthony went down with a sprained left ankle in the third quarter of a 107-100 loss to the Miami Heat on December 17. Anthony has not played in Denver's four losses since then, including a 102-88 setback to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. The Nuggets opened a 52-43 advantage at the break but had to play the second half without Martin, who was suffering from back spasms. Anthony is not expected to return until later in the week, while Martin's status is day-to-day. </div> Another injury is the last thing the Nuggets need. This season has been injury filled for the Nuggets and it doesn't appear to be stoppin anytime soon. Hopefully the Nuggets will have Carmelo and KMart back by the Philly game but even that looks unlikely. This means that the Nuggets bench will be put to the ultimate test. And so far when Carmelo has been out the bench has not passed that test. Simply put the Nuggets' record with, Melo 11-9. The Nuggets' record when Carmelo has been injured(this includes the two games he has gotten hurt in)2-5. Hang in there Denver http://www.nba.com/games/20041227/DENGSW/preview.html
I think the Warriors have a real good chance of winning knowing you guys are missing K-Mart and Melo.
The injury bug has hit the Nuggets especially hard this year. Kind of sad since this team was expected to do big things. But that's just how the cookie crumbles. Any word on when they will be back? If their not back soon the Nuggets will miss the playoffs since the West is so competitive this season.

Last year, part of the reason we didn't make the playoffs last year, is that we had the same injury bug you guys had. I hope you guys can get better, but at the same time, I hope the Warriors can win against you guys tonight. BTW. Sucks trading for a star and have him get injured.
Just another injury. Injries can go both ways in the NBA. You don't want someone getting injuried and yet your opposing team does. The Knicks are in somewhat of a hole with Penny, and Crawford gone. Sorry Nuggets.
