I have a nice large sign that says no soliciting on my home.

Why do people still come to my door trying to sell me things I don't want? Is there a legal course of action to press charges against these people? I know I can make complaints with the better business bureau

I'm always nice at first, but once they start their high pressure bs, I lose it, yell at them to get the f off my property and ask them if they are blind, that I don't appreciate them selling me things when I have a no soliciting sign up. It usually leaves them saying "I'm not soliciting, I'm servicing your area."

Truth is, I would never buy shit from anyone who knocks on my door. If I wanted what you were selling, I would do my own researchand make my own contacts for the products.

They think you mean no hookers allowed?

For me, it's gotten a lot better. Years ago, there was always someone ringing the doorbell selling shit. Now months go by with nobody at all.

Now lots of people tape advertisements to my front door too. Those are annoying, but they don't piss me off as much as actual people knocking on my door

If you are bored you could probably find some entertainment by putting a beware of dog sign up right underneath the no soliciting sign, and hiding some speakers so that they are behind where someone would be when they knock on the door. Then play dog barking sounds through them when somebody is trying to sell you something.

You should answer the door with a "fuck off". They saw the sign, tell them to learn to fucking read or you'll knock them the fuck out.

Or put a video camera and a sign saying "This is being live streamed on the internet"

Door to door sales is an quickly dying art form and one of the purest forms of capitalism. It's a hard way to make a living. Just how many people are you getting to your home every week? month? Is it really that big of a problem?

They make their money by making sales. If you're polite and close the door they're going to leave. I'm not really sure what you want? And complaining to the BBB? Really? Kind of seems like you're bored and just want to fight with some on.

But if you really want an answer then try this...

Next time one of those terrible door to door sales person shows up to your house just leave the door open and wake away, if they follow you into the house, in Oregon it is legal for you to shoot them. You are allowed to defend your home. Just make sure that they are inside of your house and not still on the porch.

    Happy hunting.

That's besides the point sly. I have a large no soliciting sign on my door. They should not be disturbing me at any time. I was getting ready to leave with my family, and someone knocked on my door. my family was waiting at my car for me. I was polite as can be while letting her know I was not interested. When someone goes on and on when I say no thanks, then proceeds to tell me that spiders will get into my house and kill my dogs if I don't use their service, I've had enough.

They should not be bothering me or my family.

After searching on the better business bureau website they have multiple complaints. I'm not surprised in the slightest.

And if I owned that business I would tell my salespeople that they get double commission for every house they make a sale at with a No Soliciting sign on it.

Seriously, they only make money when they make a sale. Be polite and quickly shut the door or leave. I promise you they're going move on. They're not going to make a sale standing on your porch talking to themselves.

Aggressive salespeople can go Fuck themselves. I clearly state I'm not interested in whatever they want to sell me with my nosolicitation sign. I'm also an accountant, and hate salesman that are slimy.

I'm super polite, always, even though I have a no soliciting sign up. Until they start telling me my dogs are going to die and that I'm a moron for not buying into their products. Even though I repeatedly told them I have a friend that does exactly what they are offering.
I hope they put a big fucking x on my house so they never come back.

Your going into way too much with them.

    "Hi, are you selling something?"

"I'm not interested, have a nice day. Good bye."

Why in the hell are you telling them that you don't need what their selling because you have a friend who does it for you? Way too much information. You're listening to their spiel and then trying to reason with them? You're the one wasting their time and more importantly yours.

It was literally three minutes where I'm being nice to them and repeatedly saying no. Then I became a giant dick when they wouldn't shut up as my family was now outside at my car waiting for me.

Good news is they broke the law, plain and simple

You're really going to file a criminal complaint against them? Going to take off time from work to go to court and testify?

It's against the law for someone to solicit someone that has a no soliciting sign. So yes I'm going to tell the city about it so hopefully they shut them down from doing so anymore.

Why are you giving them 3 minutes of your time? Again, tell them you're not interested, shut the door and then walk to your car. That's 20-30 seconds. Not sure why you wasted 3 minutes of your time.

Me being polite is putting up the sign. It makes it quite clear I don't want you ringing my doorbell or knocking on it for anything to do with selling me something.

Ring my doorbell at 8 o'clock and affirm to me that you saw the sign and decided to bother me anyway and I literally don't know what I am going to do to you.

The last one to do it was an old woman from some church, I just told her to get the fuck off my property. See, I can be nice.

One could argue that she wasn't technically soliciting but I would argue she should have gotten the hint anyway.
