I mean it was a dominant win where the team played well.... everyone but Bayless and Martell. Martell not playing well is like saying "the nets suck" but Bayless needs Miller to come in the game with 8 minutes left cause he cant run the offense VS THE TWOLVES LOL? I mean are you kidding me? What happens when we play good teams? If theres one thing that could kill us in this race its him getting the backup PG minutes. Hes that bad. At SG hes ok, if he can ever hot a jumper but at PG... i think the experiment is over. Theres nothing left to see here. Hes not a pg on his best day. The blazers might wanna see which PGs are out there cause Bayless isnt even close to being the answer. That is shameful he made miller come back in. shameful. ITS THE FUCKING TWOLVES with a 20 point + lead. Man I love what camby brings us every night (well not his offense and butter fingers) but losing Blake hurts more then anyone has let on. if we have Blake I think we beat Utah and Chicago.

Alright Bayless lovers... please defend! Or try...

Where were you when he did well against Chicago? You really should stop repeating yourself, it gets you no where.

Oh thats right... Bayless had 1 decent game the entire month of February. i forgot. I was thinking about how he couldnt score vs Utah when we were killing them which would have won the game. Im thinking about the time where we were up 30 vs teh twolves and they had to bring Miller in because bayless was so awful. I was thinking about how he was 2-25 shooting jumpers during this past month.

My memory is cloudy I guess. Lets just remember how he scored 31 vs SA. Sergio had "nice" games very few months too.

like i said a few days ago....

Move Bayless and Webster this summer for a SF this summer who can be our 3rd option. Someone who can create their own shot. Even if he comes off the bench. Then sign BLake as the backup PG. Bayless will never be anything in this league but a streaky player. Bayless and Martell are not gonna get us anywhere. TIME TO TRADE THIS SUMMER.

Another option is too trade both for the PG of the future who isnt Bayless.

So how come Rudy is getting a free bye then? He did well tonight and the Toronto game (which Bayless did well in that game to as well) and then has mainly sunked in other games. Also, if Blake were here you would be complaining about the same old garbage "Blake sucks we should have traded him when we could have." Hard to really take anything you say seriously at all.

What Bayless is experiencing is the same thing as Rudy and Batum, inconsistency. I find it hard how Bayless is to blame, but keep going for the gold, you're close.

listen i have killed rudy this year but at least he is coming around. we know bayless isnt a pg. its really clear as crystal. i mean really think about what happened tonight. a 30 point lead that
evaporates to 18 when Bayless ran the show. We had to insert a 30 + yr old pg who was coming off major minutes from the night before to settle things down. that is beyong terrible. i mean mills could have done better. i think telfair could have done better.

You kill everyone. And I fail to see how Rudy is coming around considering Minnesota and Toronto were his first good games in forever. I think you should stop acting like the world is ending, your posts bring nothing new to the table. It is the same old "Hi, my name is MIXUM and I hate so and so and think we should trade half the team because they all suck ass. Read my complaining as I can not find any enjoyment in Blazer games and really, I don't know why I am a Blazer fan. Perhaps I should go hop on the Thunder bandwagon where everything is going perfect there."

I could get on board with the packaging of a couple of guys (Bayless + Rudy, Webster + Bayless, etc.) if it meant adding 'Point Guard of the Future' (patent pending), but of course you talk about getting a small forward who can create their own shot a night after Nic Batum scores 31. :NOTMARIS:

In any case, the next twenty games (plus playoffs?) is Bayless' opportunity to show what he can do on the court; so far it's looking like he's going to be a tough fit as the long term starter around here due to his jump shot not translating from U of A to the pros, and I'm not sure he's got enough playmaking in him to be relied upon to even run a second unit when Roy and/or Miller are out of the game. My guess is that eventually he'll make a nice change of pace attacking guard for some team without a bench guy who can consistently get to the free throw line

That's his forte. If he can live with that role, then I'm thinking he could survive on this team, Nic. ;)

Apart from that, this is looking like a draft pick KP may have farted on. I mean, Jack and Rush for Bayless?

does anyone remember when Gary Payton came into the league? Though he had a world of physical ability, he couldn't keep anyone honest with his jumper. The D would slump into the paint and dare him to shoot. It wasn't until his 3rd year in the league that he shored up this weakness to an acceptable level... the rest is history.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/paytoga01.html

It's not a given that Jerryd's jumper improves a similar amount, but if he can bring it up he will be a very tough combo guard for anyone to handle. If he can't improve this weakness it will continue to limit his effectiveness and minutes no matter where he's playing.

Jerryd came into the league 2 years younger then GP. It's expected that some posters want to bail on him early as he hasn't set the world on fire... hell, it seems we have a tar and feathers mob gather for sacking a different youngin following every other game. Whatever... :rolleyes2: I look forward to seeing what JB does with the opportunity before him the next couple of seasons.

JB will be fine. We have seen the dominant games, we have seen that he improved significantly from year 1 to year 2 and he has done it, so far, his entire NBA career has only about 30 more minutes played than Jarret Jack played his rookie year, and unlike Jack who had 3 years college experience - JB had one. Hack, JB, right now, is younger than Jack was when he was a rookie. Add the fact that inconsistent JB has a higher PER this year than Jack had any year in the league, and as usual the merchant of doom and gloom spews nonsense that has no research behind it.

This is the same poster that spent early parts of the year telling us how much better Webster is than Batum... if this is your source of basketball analysis... well, you get what you deserve.

Mixed up, The season is on the brink, we are awful, you are a homer. This, right there, is the extent of his basketball analysis. You want to take it as anything that is worthwhile... go for it, but my 4 years old daughter can provide more coherent basketball analysis...

Gary Payton had the added advantage of being a better playmaker and an elite defender.

I don't even dislike Bayless, I just don't think that it's super likely that his particular set of skills are going to mesh all that well longterm. He's got a first or second option mentality, with a 4th option role, and his distribution and set up skills aren't great enough to compensate for when his jumper goes cold or when opponents shut down the paint.

Maybe he makes some big leaps in the next year or two (which would be great) but currently he's just not a good enough threat from outside, nor a good enough distributor to be much more than a change of pace scoring guard, when the Blazers are in the bonus.
