Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan announced his resignation, effective at the end of the month, as CEO of the Texas Rangers on Thursday. He also sold his ownership stake in the club to co-chairmen of the board Bob Simpson and Ray Davis.

Ryan, 66, left the door open for a return to the game but said he hasn't decided what he will do with his future.
