Three teams in the entire Eastern Conference are undefeated (Indiana, Miami, Atlanta).

Three teams in the Northwestern Division are undefeated (OKC, Portland, Denver).

Sure, it's very early, but it seems like the NW Division is going to be a pretty tough one (except for the Jazz who look like they are going to struggle this season but still have Al Jefferson and Devin Harris who can string some good games together every now and then). Even Minnesota shows some flashes here and there.

OKC is probably one of the favorites to come out of the West. Portland is pretty deep and has been playing well. The Nuggets have a pretty good collection of talent too. And, it seems they are better off without JR Smith's streaky shooting and craziness.

Something's got to give tonight as the Blazers play the Nuggets.

San Antonio and New Orleans are also undefeated...

Yeah. My point was just that there are as many undefeated teams in the entire Eastern Conference as there are in the Northwestern Division. Small sample size, but I found it interesting.

No, I think it's just that the Western conference is a lot stronger than the Eastern conference...

Or it could be that the top teams in the east were all part of Christmas Day marquee matchups, decreasing the likelihood of many of them being undefeated? Aside from OKC, no one in the NW Division qualifies for that honor just yet.

The Heat won, the Celtics have lost 3 games, and the Bulls won. The Magic are really the only team that qualifies, since they played OKC and lost.

The "divisions" are kind of silly, we don't necessarily play those opponents much more then anyone else in the west, and the division winner is only guaranteed to be bracketed above the 6th seed. Yawn.

But yeah the west looks solid and deep this year. The east will be very strong at the top of the standings but once you get to about the 5th seed the west is vastly superior.

No. All division winners are guaranteed a top 4 seed, but HCA is based on record. And yes, it's stupid.

Kingspeed, I hear you like to go to games and sit in good seats. I've got a few extraordinarily good seats that I sell. Sly has my e-mail address.
