In all honesty, I'm happy he got an extension. He's done wonders with Rivers' and our air attack, and he doesn't have a running back to make the run game respectable. I think if we can go out and get one, Norv can turn our rushing attack into something respectable. This failure wasn't on him, he did a marvelous job this year at turning our 2-3 season into a 13-3 season. He preached one game at a time, every week and the players bought into it. Rivers' loves him, too. Norv, for once, wasn't the problem this year.

To say he hasn't made major improvements with our passing offense is just ignorance on your guys' part. However, he did kill LT's career.

Norv got us to an AFC championship game, something Marty couldn't do. He also got us 13-3 this year. He can't control Nate Kaeding missing two chip shots, can he?

He can't control the offensive line not giving Rivers' any time to throw the ball down field. I'd like us to draft a RB who can compliment Sproles, a big bulky back who can get those tough yards up the middle. Norv will be fine. :]

Norv didn't kill LT's career. LT just sucked.

No. Norv killed his career in combination to LT aging.

You can't try to run the ball up the middle every single time you run. When LT ran off tackle this year, he still got a respectable 4 - 5 YPC. However, every damn run was up the middle. That is what Norv needs to work on. Mixing up the run game.

I love LT, he's everything thats been right with the NFL, but you and I both know he's through. He's been through since last year. His knees are catching up to him, he's been too slow, he blocks with his upper body rather than his legs, etc. It's natural, he's getting old.

And while I don't think Norv Turner is a top 20 coach, you can't exactly blame LT's decline on him. The only thing I would pin on Norv Turner is not playing Darren Sproles more. I don't follow the Chargers and have only seen 6 games this year, so I can't say I know them as well as you, but it seems pretty obvious LT's done. Not even the great Paul Brown or Vince Lombardi would have been able to make him great this year.

And you're right about Norv's running scheme, pretty off-base with the type of runningbacks they have.

I never said he wasn't through because I know he is through. But part of that is because of Norv.

Either way, there's no one who could have made LT look good this year. That's all i'm saying.

A better run blocking team and more versatile run plays would've at least got him 1,000 yards. He's still got a nose for the end zone, too. There is no reason for him to retire.
