I say F KG if Kobe can come to the realization that this team can compete in the west and possibly make a run at a title then all is good... all we need is a better supporting cast... lets get Artest and Jermaine and we are more than fine! Get rid of Odom, Cook, and Kwame and we are good.
Lol, how are we going to contend. KG is leaving Minny, either LA or PHX. It is ridiculous to think we can contend with that team, they'll have the west wrapped up for the next 3-5 years. After that, the Portland dynasty SHOULD start. If the Suns get KG, it's time to start over. Trade Kobe to the Bulls, get that young talent.
As long as the Spurs remain the same, no team except for an upgraded Phoenix or possibly Dallas can contend. KG would have given us more firepower, but I still think the Spurs would have whopped our asses if we ever met them in the playoffs.
There is no chance we're getting Artest. One of the Maloofs said "Artest had a career year last year and we have no intentions in trading him or Bibby."

The Lakers couldn't even compete with Phoenix the past two years, and now the add KG, that's lights out for everyone else for the next 4 years.
Doesn't matter if we get Artest and O'neal we will never compete with the trio of Amare/Nash/KG VS Bryant/O'neal/Artest well Artest is not coming according to the Maloof brothers and that trio won't happen and O'neal and Kobe will only get us past the first round if were lucky.
The Spurs, Suns, Mavs, and Rockets are still better than the Lakers. The Lakers need O'Neal & Artest to make noise, not just one.
If the lakers get KG they will make a run at the championship. Face it, teams already have their hands full with kobe on the perimeter and with an inside monster like kg opponents would have to pick their poison.
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The Spurs could still beat them and also the Suns.</div> True, but the difference between "would" and "could" is the reason you do everything you can to get KG. The Lakers can compete against any team with those two on the court together.
Its becoming more evident that the three way between the Hawks, Suns, and Wolves is going to get done with KG foing to Phoenix, Amare to Atlanta, and ATL's two first round picks to Minnesota... Look on the bright side atleast Amare and KG wont be on the same team... and Marion is laving PHX from what I hear.

If I'm the TWolves, I'd rather have Amare than Atlanta's two picks. I'm not even sure Atlanta can commit to any deal of this magnitude, because they still haven't worked out their ownership issues. There's a lot of legal issues involved and getting financially burdened with the amount Amare is making could collapse this deal.
As of now, just rebuild, Garnett seems to be heading to Phx. But, Chicago isn't going to blow thier whole team up to get Kobe. So what now...

That way they can sell the rebuilding angle and with the players they get not totally look like they got ripped off. By trying to trade Amare and telling Marion he's as good as gone Kerr is treading in some deep waters already with chemistry issues if either/both of them stay. That's something for the Suns forum though
I don't see Kerr trading away both Amare and Marion. That would be retarded. Nash wouldn't be happy if he doesn't get at least some talent in return.

Okay, never say Joakim Noah. That's not the say as Marion or Amare. Corey Brewer would be a decent pickup but the fact remains that KG would want to go to Phoenix to at least play with either Amare or Marion, not neither of them.
