<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>January 10, 2005 - Electronic Arts continued its pursuit of football dominance for 2005 today, with the announcement that it has entered an exclusive agreement with the Arena League Football organization. Under the agreement, EA will produce a brand new series of games over the next four years -- with the first title in the series being finished in time for the 2006 AFL season.

"Once again, we are partnering with an industry leader who believes in the AFL philosophy and its growth potential. To the extent that EA helps grow the AFL, they participate in that growth through the increased value of future expansion teams," said Commissioner David Baker, Arena League Football. "EA is the videogame industry's gold standard. Arguably, nothing is more important to reach the younger male demographic that we are so strong in than video games. For our core fan, this is akin to a network-television agreement."

Despite the fact that the terms of this deal were not revealed, it was confirmed that this new agreement will allow EA to share in the earnings of future Arena League Football expansion team sales. The first game in the lineup is tentatively titled AFL 2006.

We believe that the business model the AFL has created will provide for a new football experience for videogame fans, and provide EA with an incentive to partner with the AFL to expand the league," said Larry Probst, Chairman and CEO of EA. "The AFL is a unique brand of football and we intend to deliver a unique football gaming experience from any the industry has seen before. We're pleased to be working with the league during this exciting, growth-period for the AFL."

Will EA be targeting the CFL (Canadian Football League) next? We're not really sure, but rest assured, we'll definitely be back with more on AFL 2006 as it becomes available.</div>

Forget about AFL, I would love to see a CFL game out on the market for once. I wouldn't buy AFL but if EA decides to make a CFL game, I would definitely be making a purchase.

Yes, I am. Proud of it too, afterall the CFL is already going into its 3rd week of the regular season. I'm happy to be getting my football fix, even though my team has started off with an 0-2 record. [IMG]

The AFL took my team away from Charlotte. The cobras sucked but i went to like 5 games. I hope they bring an AFL team back.

I would definetly buy the game, it would be fun to create a guy like Vick in the game.
