http://www2.registerguard.com/cms/i...ulk-back-up-and-other-notable-weight-changes/ 1. Troy Hill going from 167 to 180 is HUGE. He loves to play physical and with a bigger frame he'll be better able to do that. 2. Marcus Mariota going from 196-211. Think thats big for him to be an effective runner. 3. Tony Washington going from 267 to 244. Awesome for him to play a faster, quicker D-End, but still lean and mean. God can't wait for this year to kick off.
ha! Clicked the Moseley link and they noted the same thing about Washington at the Drop-End spot. I wanted to see a full list of player weights there.... hopefully that will be out shortly. In googling for this full list I came across a recent article from Fishduck on Oregon's size. http://fishduck.com/2012/07/oregon-ducks-have-bigger-players-than-the-sec/ the video link at the end on conditioning coach Rad is definitely a worthwhile watch STOMP
The drop end spot is going to wreak havoc this year in a 3-4/4-3 hybrid. I can't wait to see it, because with Clay and Alonso in the middle spots in a 3-4, tackling won't be an issue up the middle. Bo will be able to rotate from an outside LB to a SS spot in certain situations, and Boyett cleaning up any messes from the FS spot while Hill, Ifo, and Mitchell are out on an island in certain sets. If it works out, Dion Jordan could vault himself into a top 10 NFL pick this year based on his versatility and, hopefully, his production.
Just imagine being able to take a breather and a guy like AA comes in to relieve you for a series! You've got to love that!
we are going to have an elite D-Line. One of the best in the nation.. With an Elite LB core..probably one of the best front 7 in the nation. Our defense is gonna be nasty this year.
Yes I'm soooo pumped for Quack Season! I think we'll shock the country this year with a rookie QB and a Mamba too!
On paper it definitely seems the potential is there for an amazing D with frontline talent and depth. But since Kelly plays it so close to the vest with injury info, we often aren't aware when & how badly guys are dinged up until well after the fact. Among others, I guess Ricky Heimuli was really hampered with a lingering ankle injury all last season. The waves of fresh guys strategy that they utilize to wear down opponents is featuring bigger and faster talent then ever, and of course they've lots of proven vets. If they stay relatively healthy, it's going to be a crushfest. STOMP
All I can say is FINALLY! I've been getting so tired of Oregon dominating the Pac-10/12 only to look like high schoolers against some brisket-fed offensive line from the SEC.
