I hate to see the guy being called a headcase by fans and being criticized by Larry Brown. Larry is being stupid when he asks Nate Robinson to not get excited. The reason that the Knicks can't win is because half of our starters have no desire to win.Stephon Marbury is a career loser, Quentin Richardson is a decent player but again, no desire and Eddy Curry just disappears late in games.Nate Robinson, along with the other rookies and young players, love winning and just love the game. It is wrong for Larry to ask him not to be excited because it motivates the team and the fans love it. Even Jackie Butler goes into games late instead of Eddy Curry.Sure, Robinson's gotten into fights with players but he only does it because he cares...alot. I know that in my school my basketball team is very bad but I love basketball and want to win and when my team does not even try I get very mad...in baseball my team is just bad and I know we won't win and I don't care much so I don't get mad. Larry Brown may not retire or leave us before he gets fired if he has another season like this. It was such an awful season...
Nate has been characterized as an arrogant and cocky player because of his antics on the court. There is a fine line between exhibiting passion for the game and confidence in your abilities compared to being cocky and arrogant. He hasn't proven anything in this league, and he acts as if he is an All-Star.Larry Brown has always had a short leash with his point guards, and never really favored playing his rookies. Nate was a rookie and still needs to learn how to play the point. He has a long way to go. I love players who show passion for the game and their teammates, but Nate goes overboard at times.
You all know Larry Brown has had a feud with his players before, AI, Starbury, Nate etc. Brown threatend to send him down to the D-League. That may be a bit strict, but its always an action to get his head on staright, and make him realize he's not the 20 ppg scorer he was in college. There are athletic people such as himself in the D-League too. He cant be all cocky and act like he owns the league when hes a worthless rookie. You said he can rebound, he averages 2 a game. Hes a below average passer, for a point guard. Just because he can dance like a ballerina than dunk the ball doesnt mean hes an outstanding NBA player.
And you realize he's been behind Marbury for 3/4 of the season..I said for a PG he's a good rebounder and for his size he's great. How can you prove Nate is cocky? Can you provide a quote or an article about this issue??

Passion and exuberance is great, but he goes over the top a lot... especially for a kid that has done absolutely nothing in this league. I remember in a game against Philadelphia in New York, he started screaming at the Sixers' bench "You can't stop me!" blah blah blah, yet he failed to realize that despite dropping 34 points he allowed Iverson to drop 47, 9 and 6 on him. It's little things like that that I'm talking about, and just his demanor on the court in general. I know he's pumped about going head-to-head against his idol, but that was crazy. Even the Knicks' announcers were bashing him for it.I love Nate, but he needs to realize that he needs to learn to play the point and accomplish something in this league before becoming cocky. Just tone down the celebrations a little bit... you haven't done sh*t yet. Larry Brown was right about his cockiness. Larry doesn't like things like that... he is an old school coach. I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with it if Nate was a little older and more experienced, but Nate is a rookie and Brown doesn't like to play his rookies all that much unless he has no other choice.
Honestly, I don't really know what the arguments were about, but how do you know it wasn't the other players starting the arguments? If it was for a botched play then I can understand it totally. It is a players responsibility to know the play.
nate is cocky but i think everyone outside of new york doesn't appretiate what he brings to the table night in and night out. he plays with a passion something the knicks lacked throughout the season. he plays confidently as a 5'7" player and he'll go right after a 7 footer to draw a foul. he takes a beating. he gets the crowd involved. yea he is a little immature and gets a little out of line and who cares that he does this as a rookie. it's his personality and it's good that he isn't shy.

^ lol.Nate is a great athlete for his size and could be a solid player in this league, but he is a little flashy and can't be learning anything good from Steph.
