anyone who is counting on any high paid players being on thier roster half way thru the season shouldn't get thier hopes up.

I suppose you think they plan on trading Brand? [IMG]

Not a chance, the Clips actually stepped up a bit this off season, sure, it could have been very ugly, but they came out all right.

    Brand being the main part.

let's be real about this, that owner will not keep the high price help. he would rather try to win as much as possible with talent in thier first three year's of thier contract

We don't count on it really, we know they will be here for the season. If the Clippers wanted to trade E.B. or Corey, I don't think it would take even a day before they could find a taker. Unless the Clippers totally fall apart for the rest of this season and next, I don't think neither of them are going anywhere for years.

Brand and Maggette aren't going anywhere, sorry. Do I sense a touch of jealousy from a disgruntled Bulls fan? The Clippers got over on the Bulls in that Elton Brand trade so badly it's ridiculous. Sure, Chandler will be a decent NBA player, but Elton is a future hall-of-famer. Both these dudes signed long term deals, and if Richardson is locked up after this season, the Clippers are going to be a 50 win team come 2006 - take that to the bank. Whether you believe it or not, it seems that Sterling has finally been forced to pay his talent. The Clippers have one of the league's youngest, most talented trios, two of which are signed through at least 2007. So get used to seeing this team in the playoffs, maybe not this year, but from next year on. As much as I've been through as a Clipper fan, I finally have reason for great optimism. Trading Brand and Maggette is now a laughable proposition, the rest of the NBA will no longer be able to poach the Clippers roster for stars.

I thought they both signed 6 year deals, and were locked up until 2009?

My mistake, you're correct on that. Both Brand and Maggette are signed through '08-09. Wilcox and Ely through '06-07, and Kaman through '07-08.
Jaric and Richardson are signed through next season, but hopefully both will be re-upped at the end of this year. If so, the Clippers are set...

Clippers aren't that bad, what are you talking about? They stand at a 21-25 record right now. I saw in the Warrior forum that the Warriors were 20-25 at this point last season, and went 38-44. That may not be the record your looking for, but that's a hell of an improvement. Clippers have so much talent, their still just a young team and are still maturing as players. Give them a couple more years worth of draft picks, and possibly a good free agent, and you won't be dissapointed.

Endless setbacks have prevented the Clippers from being a playoff contender in the west right now, but I truly believe that this funk won't last much longer. We could go through an entire list of the if's and why's like : the Lamar Odom situation, Andre Miller, Olowokandi's selfishness and many more.

This team now has a roster of players who want to be there and play hard every night, and a very good NBA coach who will help bring this young collection of guys along and show them how to play a team game. I want all the non-believers to get their last laughs in right now, becuase time is running out.

The Clippers just got back from a 9 game road trip, and to me it kind of really said to me this team is still too inexperienced. They went on a 4 game losing streak against some teams who weren't that good, and a few of those I thought they could have had but they blew. As long as the Clips keep their core players, I can't wait til next season. I watch every Clipper game and I'm lookin forward to tomorrow's game at Dallas.

I know, the consistency just isn't there right now. Elton and Corey have given consistent efforts every night, but the rest of the team has been disappearing at the most inopportune times. I am looking forward to the Mavs game though, the Clippers have really given them all they could handle the past couple of seasons. This one should be a shootout.

haha, not the CLippers. I've noticed it with the Bulls though. They always say they're gonna have a breakout season, but I haven't witnessed that yet.
