<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After advancing to the NBA Finals, the Mavericks are confident they can continue to be successful with the roster they have, if it stays together. "We don't feel that we have to start from scratch," guard Jerry Stackhouse said. Jason Terry, Adrian Griffin, Keith Van Horn, Darrell Armstrong and DJ Mbenga are free agents, but owner Mark Cuban said he doesn't "expect to make any adjustments at all." Free agency begins July 1, and players can begin signing contracts July 12. Terry, who was the Mavs' second-leading scorer in the regular season at 17.1 points per game, is considered one of the top free agents in the market, but he said after the Mavs' season-ending 95-92 loss to Miami on Tuesday that he'd "love to be right back here." "This is a great organization, great city," said Terry, who completed his second season as a starting guard for the Mavs. "And I wouldn't trade this experience for the world." Cuban said Terry is an important part of the team. "He's not that Atlanta guy anymore," Cuban said. "He's our guy. That's a huge advantage for all of us." Griffin, who was signed as a free agent in late November, said he is unsure of his future. "I don't know what next year holds," said Griffin, who started 45 games in the regular season. "I know that they really changed my life. I was just fortunate to be a part of a great group of guys." Van Horn missed 27 regular-season games with various injuries and averaged 8.9 points and 20.6 minutes per game. Armstrong, the Mavs' oldest player who turns 38 today, saw limited playing time in 62 games during the regular season. Mbenga averaged 5.5 minutes in 43 games this season.</div> Source
Armstrong should become an assistant coach. Mbenga should stay. KVH should pack his bags. Griffin was solid and gave the mavs a bit of everything that they were missing. Terry.. I just don't know about Terry. He was super clutch in 5 of the 6 finals games, and i know he wants to stay, but im not sure how he fits. Harris has improved by leaps and bounds, and I want him in the starting lineup without having two guys under 6'3" in the backcourt. However, unless there is something that great on the trade market, he should stay.
How about Mike James? I know he's a ball hog and got an attitude, but he's much affordable than Terry and he's a good alternative if Terry decides to leave.
i think that they should sign the jet (Jason Terry) to a long term deal, and that they should resign Keith Van Horn to a 2 year contract he could be a great bench player for next year and sign Armstrong as a coach cause he is a long time veteran and knows his stuff and they should sign DJ Mbenga to a 1 year extension and see how he does and if he doesn't do as they expected then he is a free agent next year and the won't have to worry about him...or use him for trade bait (if anybody wawnts him)
