QUOTE

ESPN thinks Dallas is Jason Kidd’s preferred destination. The Record reports Kidd’s agent may be talking to Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban about a trade. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says if the Mavs want Kidd, they’ll have to give up Josh Howard. The Salt Lake Tribune says Kidd will likely be dealt and Dallas makes the most sense. Not everyone agrees…and no one is talking on the record.

If we can get Josh Howard I don't see what the problem is but no way does dallas give us him. As soft as Dirk is you'll need Howard in the playoff when Dirk pulls his vanishing act.

but also dallas is noticing that they are soft and would likely fall again to warriors spurs or what ever team comes out the east. They tried to get Reggie Miller out of retirement after losing to the Heat saying they need a veteran.

Kidd might be what they lookin for

sounds like Dallas is getting desperate. then again, aren't we? I don't think we are, but, some may think otherwise. I'm not too crazy for a Dallas trade. at this point, my head's so spun around, I don't know what I'm up for. and it's just begun! [IMG]

They wont get Howard. A Terry or Harris deal, with Bass included and filler to complete it is what Thorn should be asking for

Why would they want either of Terry or Harris when they already have Marcus Williams though? Both of those guys have huge contracts and neither of them are pure PGs like Williams is.

Why would they want Howard when they have RJ?

The Nets have Kidd, and three other points on the team right now. Toronto is doing quite nicely with the Ford/ Calderon combo. Terry and Harris can easily play the 1 or 2.

you gotta ask for the best player available. maybe we can trade RJ ov VC then easily and not worry about getting ripped off.

Kidd is not KG, you are not getting back Howard for Kidd. Howard is an all star, no one is going to trade Kidd for an all star

What's the reason of trading All-Star for All-Star? I'd rather trade for high potential prospect(s) and draft pick. Otherwise, you just postopone inevitable - rebuilding.

If Dallas doesn't want to part with Howard then they don't really want Kidd all that badly then. I don't think it's dillusional to ask for something in a trade for a guy who can help the team he's going to win it now. Not to say Howard isnt that kind of player either, but f they truly do want a Jason Kidd in the thinking that he can catapult that team to a title then yes you have to give up something in return. What rush are we in to deal Kidd? If they want him they are going to have to give us something of worth for him because their draft picks are low first rounders and they don't have much in the realm of expiring contracts either. While it's nice to have Howard on that squad for his ability to take over games, Kidd can make every piece on that team even better and combined with Dirk, Stackhouse, and company it could be downright scary.

But the question remains, what do the Nets do with Howard if he comes here? What happens to RJ?

Probably because Harris is a much better player than Marcus Williams. As for Terry, I don't know. Taking on Terry would be foolish.

QUOTE (nba.com)

Josh Howard led the Mavericks to a 125-117 win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday, scoring a career-high 47 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Ha. I doubt we'd even have a chance to get him.

I could see Terry and Harris, thought. And I wouldn't mind that too much.

Think about it: Terry's a combo guard. Devin's more of a pg than Terry. We'd have a good 1-2 punch in Williams-Harris.

When Williams comes back, Terry goes to the 2 guard, and Wright to the SF. So that Boki doesn't have to be in the game to suck any more.

And maybe...we could try to get Bass or Diop (wishful thinking).
