Notes: Fernandez has a back injury and is listed as a game-time decision tonight against Minnesota ... Former Lake Oswego High star Kevin Love will make his first NBA visit to Portland. Entering Friday's game at Sacramento, Love was averaging 9.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in 23.8 minutes. He had 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks Wednesday against San Antonio. CAN WE JUST BE HEALTHY?????
Injuries are a part of the game... We aren't too bad right now, imo. Rudy would be a big blow as he is our 3rd best player including Oden (Rudy is simply better than Oden right now). Webster out for a month, Oden for a week, and Rudy a game-time decision isn't that bad, imo. Aldridge/Roy would have been bad. We will get better, at least we have no season ending injuries (knock on wood).
I don't think it's that serious... it was probably some hard elbow in the back by Artest since he couldn't stay with him.
And Manu is hurt and out. Now Parker is hurt and out. Josh Smith is hurt and out. Shane Battier is hurt and out. Kirk Hinrich is day to day. Luol Deng is day to day. Monta Ellis is hurt and out. Cory Magette is day to day. Mike Dunleavy is hurt and out. Baron Davis is day to day. Vince Carter is day to day. Deron Williams is hurt and out. I only listed players that have been discussed by posters as possible trade targets or dream gets. The full injury list is much longer. That is just how it is and always has been. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/injuries
I wonder if that's why he didn't play at the end of the game against the Rockets? He didn't play in OT did he?
I was going to post something along those lines. That seems creepy to me too (like in the Harris thread), but then I realized that it is logical to point out that we fans can be pretty myopic.
Rudy is just having back spasms. Hopefully he can play, he seems like the type of player to play through pain if possible.
I think there may be something to this. I'm wondering if we really need to start evaluating our training staff. Greg's injury was a freak injury. But all of the sore backs, ankles, hammys and the like are usually due to poor conditioning and training methods.
You can't teach heart. Players used to play with aches and pains, sometimes the same pain year after year. Now they can find the source of the discomfort and rest it or get it fixed. I'm sure KOBE plays through the same aches and pains that keep our players from playing.
I'm not too worried. They play at most two times a week in Euroleague. He's played five times in a week and a half against players that are a lot stronger, faster and more physical than in Spain. I'm sure these "back spasms" are Nate's way of giving him a night off against a team there's not excuse beating handily.
Since August: *Brandon Roy - knee *Channing Frye - ankle *Martell Webster - foot *Greg Oden - ankle, foot. *Rudy Fernandez - back *Steve Blake - hamstring
AG, you're talking about MIXUM. On his wedding day, he'd probably ask his new wife, "So, how soon is it going to be before you're going to divorce me?"
that would have to be some elbow. Unfortunately "back injury" is usually something more spine related rather then outer musculature. Hopefully he just took a bad fall or something and this isn't the start of a chronic condition revealing itself STOMP
