What's everyone going to be doing until the next season starts? From browsing around the forum, I can see some of you will be out for a while, whether you're going to another forum or taking a break altogether. Those of you who will be following another sport, we do have large football and basketball sections if you're up for that.
I was the MOD for the Celtics board a few years back but I was unable to recruit enough posters before it died out.
With enough momentum created by the Yankees forum, I'm sure we'd be able to properly populate another section until the Yankees begin next season.
I also just checked out the Jets & Giants boards. The Jets having nothing happening & the Giants very little. The Basketball sites are completely dead. We may just have to follow the Giants & Jets right here.
The Giants board does show some life, do you want to try it there first before we settle here? As far as the Jets, like I said, there's no life on that board at all.
...I dunno, I think this place is just fine for talking about other sports/teams...hell, half of what we talk about here is off topic anyway.
Works for me Lil, after all I think it went over pretty well this past weekend. We can make it a general football thread every Sunday. This way everyone has a chance to speak on there favorite teams or voice there views on other games. Okay Lillie, Its your show to start the thread every Sunday. WHOOPIE! we're keeping the family together.
I'm a big hockey fan so I'll certainly be on the Rangers board all season. I'm also always over here even though there becomes less baseball to talk about for a little while. The Giants board for example really doesn't get much traction. I wish it did but I think we talk more about it here than on the actual football board. Which is actually fine because it will keep some of us engaged over here. Plus, I do like the idea of doing threads for the remaining MLB playoffs over here.
Hope to be around on the Yankee board. Have been posting on the Giants' board...........but if you want to pick it up on the Yankee board, I'm in. Also posting on the Ranger hockey board. It can get crazy at times, but it's fun.
Also... *cough*... if we do branch out to other sections, depending on if said sections have a moderation staff tied to them, we may be looking into adding to the team should the admins see fit.
Exactly.....we do talk Football both NFL and NCAA, as well as Rangers and the NHL in general, NBA on occasion, tho' I think every Knicks fan has had enough for 2 decades. As much, we talk Yanx all Season long here, from the Winter Meetings, to Free Agency Players, and speak of every movement within baseball over the course of a year. I go on rare occasions to the Rangers board, its not for me. I occasionally go to a (French Canadien) board, to talk about Les Canadiens de Montreal, but have to write in French. Both the Rangers board, is loaded with Fans, but I really don't care for 3/4's of the discussions, or posters on that board. I use a Quebec link to talk hockey, tho' I'd rather talk hockey with Vic, and others right here, as well as poke others in fun.... Overall, tho' we've don't have the numbers of Poster's which the BSPN Boards did, we have a much better Quality laden Pack of Fans here, than BSPN, or any other board, for that matter..... Overall we've got a good thing going right here...my hats off to this crew of Fans........ oops wrong hat, the ass hat....excuse me please- (chuckle)....
I'll be checking in regularly...its my point of reference in an ever accelerating down the shitter world. for me... Next week in the Fatherland for Oktoberfest, aka business (a-hem) trip. Early Nov - during a 24hr (No Reservations style) trip to London with Mrs. Totus for a pint and proper fish & chips (and getting her used to long flights, 787 style) Hosting Turkey day again at our house Nov 30-Dec 4 in STL for work...and the bbq..and depressed cards fans Dec 9-15 anniversary trip to Zurich and Zermatt...we'll find ron some cheetos flavored swiss trufles. Christmas in Palm Springs...lots of golf.
