The difference is Carroll wants to have a career in broadcasting or media when he's done playing. When LMA's career is over he just wants to sit on his front porch sipping lemonade while thinking about how his teammates never respected him.
I find Aldridge's post-retirement plans more relateable personally. But then, I'm not necessarily a good person.
The funny thing is; I think DeMarre actually wrote his and LMA probably said, 'hey Mark, lets write a letter to the blazers." oh okay what shoudl it say. LMA: Well, uh, you know, uh, like thanks portland, you know, uhhhhh I had to do what was best for me and you know, just something short and to the point you know. Not much there. Just thanks but no thanks you know? Mark: Got it. Here's a couple lines, should we add anything personal? LMA: You know uh, lets say, you know, no hard feelings - your friend LA. Nothing personal.
I don't think that's the way it went down. More like: [a week ago+]Agent: LaMarcus, you should start composing a note that we can send to smooth things over in Portland. It's good PR, and you won't get booed quite so much. LMA: Uh, you know... [Three days later]Agent: Have you written that letter? LMA: You know, uh... [July 4] Agent: It's time to send that note. LMA: Uh, you know... Agent: Shall I draft something? LMA: You know, uh, you know. Agent: Ok, here's what I wrote. You should edit it so that it's personal. LMA: Uh, you know... Agent: Fine. We'll just send what I wrote. If you don't give a damn I suppose I don't either. barfo
